ALIRAJPUR — Pushpraj Singh, son of Congress MLA Sena Patel from Jobat, has been booked for attempted murder after allegedly trying to mow down two constables with an SUV in Alirajpur earlier this week. Singh is absconding, and police have launched a manhunt.
CCTV footage shows Singh driving a speeding, numberless SUV near Alirajpur bus stand, ignoring police signals to stop and charging at two constables. The SUV rammed a pole after the constables narrowly escaped. One constable, Rakesh Gujaria, was injured and is under treatment.
Police said Singh was identified from testimonies, and a DSP-led team is tracking him. SP Rajesh Vyas stated the accused acted deliberately.
The case triggered a political storm, with Singh’s father Mahesh Patel calling it a “false case under political pressure” and vowing to move the High Court. MLA Sena Patel alleged a “well-planned conspiracy” and threatened to raise the matter in the assembly and with the Chief Minister.
Despite the defence, the CCTV visuals clearly show the SUV charging at the policemen before crashing into a pole.
