00:00If I'm against the stroke play free-for-all tour championship, how can I be for match play?
00:07You know, that would make sense in that, you know, match play, you know, a guy can get hot on you.
00:13You know, you judge an entire season on stroke play, and all of a sudden, you know,
00:18Scotty Sheffer's going up against the 16 seed who's had a good year, but goes out and he loses.
00:27But what is so different about match play and stroke play, from my perspective, is I think that it's easier to follow.
00:36I think that you can always tell where it stands within the two players that are playing each other.
00:43And then you also get, I think, more energy and reactions from the players and just an overall sense of urgency right from the get-go,
00:51where a tour championship, it's just going to be like every other tournament.
00:55They're going to tiptoe their way along and just treat it, you know, where I want to get too high, I want to get too low.
01:01Or with match play, it's, you know, it's part of the game and ship of fist pumping and getting the momentum.
01:06And that's where I think the crowd definitely could play a factor in whether it's an underdog or, you know,
01:14bringing home Scotty Sheffler's three down.
01:16That's the aspect I think that the players have totally missed in this is that, of course,
01:21the players are part of the reason why match play hasn't worked, but I couldn't agree more.
01:26Like, you go to a big city with energy and then players that have a sense of urgency and match play to not want to go home.
01:35We just talked about it.
01:36There's plenty of money going out early enough in all this for the guys who play good throughout the season.
01:40So let's make this thing fun.
