00:00Let's go directly to Tinkletown, or as I would say, Tinkletown adjacent.
00:05That would be Anaheim where the Rangers and the Angels square off tonight.
00:09Nathan Eovaldi on the bump for Texas for the Angels who won the opening game of this set in walk-off.
00:18I mean, literally walk-off fashion.
00:20Bases juiced last night in a walk to Nolan Shanwell at the plate.
00:25The Angels take the opener.
00:26Eight and a half is that total.
00:28The Rangers issue DRS has been hitting, pitching not as much.
00:32What will we see out of Eovaldi today for Texas trying to even up this midweek set against their divisional mate?
00:39Hopefully something good.
00:40And you take a look at the eight, and immediately my thoughts, oh, eight, they got two pretty good lineups here.
00:43Specifically, the Rangers are really hitting right-handed pitching, but that's not the case here.
00:46I mean, if you haven't heard of Jose Soriano, take a look at his last 60 days.
00:49He's got an 80 XFIP minus, which is great, an ERA of 3.34, but an XFIP number of 3.30.
00:55And take a look at some other statistics.
00:57His last 126 batters, Ben, an 0.70 ISO against.
01:02If you extend that to a full season, which is 444 batters, that's a great sample size.
01:07An 0.67 ISO, which means nobody gets extra base hits.
01:11And you know in Major League Base, where you have a strikeout pitcher and you're not getting extra base hits,
01:15good luck getting a walk out of the guy who doesn't walk very many batters,
01:18and then two to three singles to try to knock in a run.
01:21It's not happening.
01:21So just from that, Eovaldi, which we know he can be top end really good,
01:26and Soriano, who has been very good.
01:28I've got to go under in this game.
01:29I don't think we see nine because those two starting pitchers should be able to handle those lineups today.
