00:00I love that there are really alien stories about Superman and really human stories about Superman.
00:04You chose a very human story, one of those human comic films I've ever seen.
00:08Why did you go that direction and what did you really want to convey in that human kindness for Clark and that importance?
00:13I wanted to show Superman in an intimate way. I wanted to believe Superman.
00:19So I wanted to show him in this gigantic DC universe, this magical world that's like from the comic books,
00:25where we're entering how I entered as a child with Superman, with superhuman friends, with giant robots, with kaiju, with all of that.
00:34So I wanted to have that, but at the same time, really get to know him, get to know his personality, who he is,
00:41what his relationship with Lois is like, what his beliefs are, what his strengths are, what his flaws are.
00:46Have you mapped out immutables on the other characters that you're playing?
00:49Are there like through lines you can't cross with certain beats and certain characters that are the directors and writers?
00:53Yeah, there's a few things, but it's pretty loose.
00:57Okay.
