08:35you mean that sort of clanging rattling flapping noise yes what is it I've no idea well we can't
08:47have you feeling like this why don't I go and take a long walk along the harbour and try and
08:51find the cause oh Archie would you I'd be ever so grateful no problem now why don't you stay here
08:59and keep warm and uh maybe read a book while I go and investigate oh tractor engines how thoughtful
09:08oh thank you Archie oh see you later
09:12that rattling clanging flapping noise seems to be coming from over here
09:27getting louder strange I wonder what it could be
09:34of course it's the noise of the rigging on the boats that's what Edie can hear
09:44every time the wind blows the rigging on the boat starts clinking and clanking
09:48but what can I do about it
09:51I certainly can't make it stop
09:55but maybe I could make it more pleasant to listen to
09:57more musical maybe
09:59yes that's it musical but who in Balamori knows about music
10:05of course Spencer if you need a little rhythm call Spencer got a song you want to give him call me
10:12call Spencer we can start at the beginning call Spencer I can play you anything if you need a
10:17little rhythm call Spencer got a song you want to give him call me call Spencer we can start at the beginning
10:22call Spencer I can play you anything if you need a little rhythm call Spencer I can play you anything if you need a little rhythm call Spencer I can play you anything so take a set of car keys jingle them around
10:28around. Now we're making music. Just listen to the sound. Take an empty tin can. Beat it

11:38start at the beginning. Call Spencer. Call Spencer. I can play you anything.
11:54Hello Spencer. Just the man I was looking for. Oh hey there Archie. Ah, painting. Wonderful
12:00pastime, don't you think? It certainly is. Is that Roddy McCloud's cow? Yes it is. Ah yes, I thought
12:06I recognised her. Now Spencer, I need your help. So, what's the story in Balamori? Well
12:11now. I popped over to the nursery this morning to pick up a get well card for Edie. The children
12:19had made some lovely paper flowers, so I picked them up as well as a few other things to help
12:24cheer her up. When I got to Edie's I found her asleep, so I tried to be very quiet. As
12:30I was leaving, the sound of the doors opening woke her. Edie was a bit grumpy. She told me
12:35that she hadn't had much sleep because the noise from outside was keeping her awake.
12:40So I went down to the harbour to try and find the cause. I discovered it was the sound of
12:45the rigging on the boats flapping and rattling and clanging. And I thought, seeing as I can't
12:50stop the noises, maybe I could make the sounds more pleasant for Edie to listen to. And that's
12:56when I thought of you. Me? Well I thought you could think of a way of making the clinking clunking
13:00noise is more musical. And that is a hard one. Is that a cowbell? Yes. I have one right
13:09here. I guess you could call her a musical cow. Musical cow. Cowbell. Boatbell. Musical boats.
13:23That's it. Why not musical boats? Using bells? Yes. Bells, chimes, anything that tinkles as
13:32the boats sway in the breeze. Oh. Come on, Archie. Open that bag. It's music time.
13:38Done.
14:07Done. Now, let's nip over to the nursery and get the children making jinglers and
14:12janglers for the boats. Great idea. To the nursery!
14:24We need all your help. Look out.
14:30We're going to use these clattery, jingly things to make as many jinglers and janglers as we can.
14:37Well, actually, I think we've finished with all our jinglers and janglers. We stand up and hold them up.
14:44Oh, yes. Let's try them.
14:45Oh, yes. Let's try them.
14:47It's the boats bobbing up and down on the sea. Let's hear the jinglers and janglers. Here comes the wind making really noisy, really shake them.
14:54Oh, yeah.
15:01Hooray!
15:02Ooh!
15:03Yeah.
15:04Louder, louder!
15:05Ooh!
15:06We come to breeze again!
15:07Shhhh!
15:08Nice and quiet.
15:09Nice and quiet, Bradley!
15:10Can you hear the jinglers and janglers?
15:12Here comes the wind, making really noisy, really shake them.
15:16Ooh!
15:18Yeah, louder, louder!
15:20Ooh!
15:22Here comes the breeze again.
15:24Shhh!
15:26Nice and quiet.
15:28Fantastic, everybody.
15:30Now, what we all need to do
15:32is put all the jinglers and janglers back in my bag
15:34and then I can take them down to the harbour
15:36and use them to make real musical boats.
15:38Thank you very much.
15:40Well done.
15:42That's very good.
15:44Well, I hope you helped make Edie feel better.
15:46Fine.
15:48Thanks so much, everybody.
15:50See you all later.
15:52Goodbye!
16:08I've sorted out the noise for you, Edie.
16:14I've sorted out the noise for you, Edie.
16:28How clever!
16:30What was it, Archie?
16:32Well, it was the noise of the boats clattering.
16:34From clattery boats into musical boats.
16:36Oh, it sounds wonderful.
16:38And I'm feeling so much better.
16:42Just listen.
16:48Oh, it sounds lovely.
16:50So soothing and relaxing.
16:52Oh, and it's all thanks to you, Archie.
16:56Well, it was Spencer's idea.
16:58And I couldn't have done it without the children at the nursery.
17:00Well, I'll be thanking them, too,
17:02as soon as I'm up and about.
17:04Oh.
17:16So, what was the story in Balamori today?
17:18Well...
17:20Archie popped over to the nursery
17:24to pick up the Get Well card he'd made for Edie,
17:26who wasn't very well.
17:28When Archie arrived at Edie's,
17:30he discovered that poor Edie hadn't had much sleep,
17:32because of the clattering, clanging noise from outside.
17:36Archie went down to the harbour
17:38to find out what was making the noise.
17:40He found that the noise was the sound
17:42of the rigging on the boats.
17:44So he asked Spencer if he could think of a way
17:46to make the sounds more pleasant for Edie to listen to.
17:48Spencer suggested they ask the children to make janglers
17:52so they could be attached to the boat rigging.
17:54The children made their janglers,
17:56and Archie took them over to the harbour
17:58and attached them to the boats.
18:00Edie felt much better after listening to the soothing sound
18:04of the musical boats.
18:06We'll see you soon.
18:08Bye!
