03:32I can see.
03:34Hi, Edie.
03:36Howdy, Miss Hooley.
03:37Hello, children.
03:38Hi, Edie!
03:40Come on through.
03:42So, what brings you back to the nursery so soon?
03:46Well, I just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten that Granny MacLeod is visiting the nursery later on.
03:52Granny MacLeod? Oh, yes.
03:54Oh, I'd completely forgotten.
03:56Yes, eh, why is she?
03:58To share a funny story with the children.
04:01A funny story, of course.
04:03Thanks, Edie.
04:04Oh, that's alright.
04:05And just to say that Granny MacLeod asked me to ask you if you could get the children giggling when she arrives.
04:13Giggling? Are you sure?
04:15That's what she said.
04:16I normally have the children sitting still and quiet for a story.
04:19I know.
04:20But Granny MacLeod asked if you could get them all laughing and giggling.
04:24Well, I might need a hand to start them off.
04:27I'll tell you what.
04:28I could go down to the shop and see if I could find something to make them laugh.
04:33What, like a joke book?
04:35Yes, or a funny trick or something.
04:38Oh, that would be great, Edie, if you don't mind.
04:40Not at all.
04:41See you later then.
04:42See you in a bid.
04:43Bye.
04:45So, which colour house will Edie visit first today?
04:54Can you see all the different coloured houses sitting by the sea?
04:59Well, this part of the story in Balamori asks, which is the house for me?
05:06Is it pink?
05:07Is it blue?
05:08Is it blue?
05:09Which coloured house are we going to?
05:17Tell me what do you think?
05:18Which coloured house are we going to?
05:19Tell me what do you think?
05:24Which coloured house are we going to?
05:26Tell me what do you think?
05:28It's the red house.
05:29It's the red house.
05:30Yes, it's the red house.
05:33Because that's where Penny and Susie live.
05:35I'd like to order ten new plates, please.
05:41Howdy, Penny.
05:42Hi, Edie.
05:43I'll be with you in a second.
05:44That's right.
05:45Ten new plates.
05:46I think you'd better make that twenty new plates, Penny.
05:47Sorry, I'll have to call you back in a minute.
05:48Oh dear.
05:49I'd better see what the damage is.
05:50Yes.
05:51What can I do for you?
05:52I was looking for something for the children at the nursery.
05:57Something that's nice, Penny.
05:58All right.
05:59I'll make the three plates.
06:00Ten new plates.
06:01I think you'd better make that twenty new plates, Penny.
06:02Sorry, I'll have to call you back in a minute.
06:03Oh dear.
06:04I'd better see what the damage is.
06:05Yes.
06:10Hey, what can I do for you?
06:17I was looking for something for the children at the nursery.
06:19Oh, something to make them laugh.
06:22Laugh? Oh, dear.
06:24Well, we've got some jokes and tricks.
06:34Sniff my flower.
06:36Oh, what on earth?
06:39Oh, I don't think that's very funny at all.
06:43No. OK.
06:44Ta-da!
06:53What's that?
06:57It's a fried egg.
07:02But it's not real.
07:04No, it's plastic. That's why it's funny.
07:10Crackers!
07:12Crackers.
07:13Crackers. Oh, crackers are very funny.
07:15Oh, it's...
07:16No.

07:18Oh!
07:21Oh!
07:24What did one strawberry say to the other strawberry?
07:28I don't know.
07:29If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be in this jam.
07:36Oh.
07:37All right.
07:38All right.
07:38All right.
07:41Ha-ha!
07:43Why did the girl give her pony cough mixture?
07:49Why did the girl give her pony cough mixture?
07:52Because she thought he was a little harsh.
07:57Oh, there must be something better than this.
07:59Yes.
08:01What are you doing?
08:02Well, you're not making me laugh with all this mess.
08:07Oh, I'm very sorry, Penny.
08:09Oh, Susie, your tricks and jokes aren't very funny.
08:13Do you have anything else that would make the children laugh?
08:17Er, no.
08:18I don't think we have anything else funny.
08:20Well, there must be somebody in Balamore.
08:22Someone who can think of something to make the children giggle.
08:26Somebody who's really inventive.
08:27There is a certain clever inventor, I know.
08:30Who's that?
08:31Orchie.
08:32Orchie.
08:33Did I hear you say that you've got a confusion?
08:37Great inventions, groovy solutions.
08:38Great inventions, groovy solutions.
08:39Super Archie's surfing through the solution.
08:40Great inventions, groovy solutions.
08:41Great inventions, groovy solutions.
08:42Archie can make most anything.
08:43I can solve your problem, so give me a ring now.
08:45Yeah.
08:46Archie's inventions can help the nation.
08:49I can never invent our Arno.
08:50Who's that?
08:51Orchie.
08:52Did I hear you say that you've got a confusion?
08:54Great inventions, groovy solutions.
08:57Super Archie's surfing through the solution.
08:59Great inventions, groovy solutions.
09:02Archie can make most anything.
09:05I can solve your problem, so give me a ring now.
09:08Archie's inventions can help the nation.
09:12Great inventions, groovy solutions.
09:15Yeah, I've got a thing called imagination.
09:19Great inventions, groovy solutions.
09:23From crazy hats that help us sing.

09:30Great inventions, groovy solutions.
09:33Great inventions, groovy solutions.
09:37Do your cogs need declogging?

09:55My inventions, I'll sort it out for you.
10:00I know what to do.
10:01Archie's such a clever chef, he knows a lot now.
10:10Great inventions, groovy solutions.
10:13I'm a scientific wonder with a yogurt pot now.
10:17Great inventions, groovy solutions.
10:21Archie, yeah.
10:23Howdy, Archie.
10:24Hello, Edie.
10:25Now, according to my calculations, in order to power this yogurt pot the length of the room,
10:40I need, um...
10:42Well, an orange.
10:43Right.
10:44OK.
10:45Oh, dear.
10:46That was supposed to go all the way over there.
10:50Must need to adjust my calculations a little.
10:53Oh, meady.
10:54Sorry about that.
10:55So, what's the story in Balamore?
10:58Well, Archie, it all started this morning when I went to the nursery.
11:03I called in to see Miss Hooley to remind her that Granny McLeod is going to be sharing a story with the children later on today.
11:13I told her that Granny McLeod wants the children to be laughing and giggling when she arrives at the nursery.
11:20I decided to go to the shop to see if I could buy something that will make the children laugh.
11:26Susie showed me a squirty flower and a plastic fried egg.
11:32And then we pulled some crackers and read out the jokes.
11:37But nothing really made us laugh.
11:43So, that's when I thought of you.
11:46So you want to make the children laugh?
11:48That's right.
11:49What is it, Archie? What's so funny?
12:10There's nothing that makes people laugh more than hearing somebody else laugh.
12:16You need the giggler.
12:18Giggler.
12:19The what?
12:20The giggler.
12:21It's something that I invented ages ago, but I can never think of a use for it.
12:24Until now.
12:25The giggler.
12:26A hat that makes you giggle.
12:32Oh!
12:33Oh!
12:34Oh!
12:35Oh!
12:36Oh!
12:37Oh!
12:38Oh!
12:39Oh!
12:40Oh!
12:41Oh!
12:42Oh!
12:43Oh!
12:44Oh!
12:45Oh!
12:46Oh!
12:47Oh!
12:48Oh!
12:49Oh!
12:50Oh!
12:51Oh!
12:52Oh!
12:53Oh!
12:54Oh!
12:55Oh!
12:56Oh!
12:57Oh!
12:58Oh!
12:59Oh!
13:00Oh!
13:01Thank you so much, Archie. Oh, this giggler hat is just the trick. I can't wait to take it to the nursery.
13:19Now, boys and girls, we've got a very special visitor here today. It's Granny MacLeod, and she's going to tell you a lovely story.
13:26But before that, Edie is going to show you Archie's latest invention.
13:30Well, I want to tell you about my hat. Now, it's called the giggler hat. Now, it's called the giggler hat because it does this.
13:50Oh, dear. Oh, well, I think it's time for your story.
13:54Now, as some of you know, I am Granny MacLeod, and I've come to tell you a story about when I couldn't stop giggling.
14:05When I was a wee girl, there were so many kinds of things that made me laugh that my mummy called me her little giggler.
14:16Then one day, my mummy said to me that we were going to visit Great Granny MacLeod.
14:26And my mummy said to me that I had to be on my best behaviour, and that meant no giggling.
14:37So, I met my great granny MacLeod, and I loved her.
14:48But she kissed me, and it tickled.
14:52But no, I didn't giggle, I didn't laugh, and I didn't even smile.
15:00Then we had tea, and all through the tea, I had to keep a straight face.
15:09And when my great granny saw that I had a straight face, she kept a straight face too.
15:17And then she passed round the sandwiches with a straight face.
15:22And then she gave me a chocolate eclair, and she took one too.
15:37And then we both, oh, bit into our chocolate eclair.
15:44And what do you think happened?
15:46The cream shot out of the chocolate eclair with a squelch.
15:52And we both looked at each other, and we both smiled.
15:58Then we both giggled.
16:01And then we both laughed.
16:08And then all the other old people in the home looked at us,
16:14and saw the blob of cream on our noses, and the dollop of cream on our good frocks.
16:22And they started to smile.
16:24Then they started to giggle.
16:26And the great granny McCloud said to me,
16:38Oh, I'm so glad you came to see me, and that you made me laugh.
16:44So, what was the story in Balamori today?
17:02Well, it all started when Edie visited the nursery this morning.
17:07Edie came to remind me that Granny McCloud was coming to the nursery to share a story with the children.
17:15She told me that Granny McCloud wanted the children to be laughing and giggling when she arrived at the nursery.
17:21Edie decided to go to the shop to see if she could buy something that would make the children giggle.
17:27Susie showed Edie a few things, but nothing really made her laugh.
17:32Edie thought that Archie could help her invent something that would help.
17:36Archie told Edie that nothing makes people laugh more than hearing someone else laugh.
17:43So he gave her the Giggler, a hat that makes people laugh.
17:48The Giggler was a great success.
17:51It made everyone laugh, and we all enjoyed Granny McCloud's story about when she was a giggly wee girl.
17:58And that was the story in Balamori.
18:04Balamori.
18:05It was a really silly story, wasn't it?
18:08But it was a good laugh.
18:14And I'll see you soon.
18:16Bye!
18:25Balamori, Balamori
18:32What's the story in Balamori?
18:33What would you like to know?
18:35What's the story in Balamori?
