00:00Meanwhile, with the monsoon and wet season well underway, the Department of Health once new reminds the public of the perils of waterborne ailments like the common cold and flu, leptospirosis, and all too familiar but just as deadly dengue.
00:14And the only surefire way against contracting these wild or waterborne diseases is protecting oneself with maintaining cleanliness and hygiene from within and around.
00:23Regular bathing or hand-washing keeps the germs away as well as flushing out or draining still or stagnant water around the home where mosquitoes carrying the lethal dengue virus breed.
00:33As such, the DOH is in full support of a zero-death rate campaign from dengue by the year 2030.
00:40Toward this end, it has ramped up its drive against dengue within its four teas and four o'clock versus mosquito campaigns.
00:47And with the surge of cases on six- to eight-year-olds over the past week, the DOH is ramping up its coordinated drive against dengue with local government units.
