00:00I yield one minute to the gentleman from Texas, distinguished member of the
00:04Budget Committee and ranking member of the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee,
00:07Mr. Doggett. The gentleman from Texas is recognized for one minute. At 3 35 in the
00:14morning, a favorite time of Republicans for taking up this bill, we consider a
00:19travesty. The Senate took an ugly bill, went out and whipped it with an ugly
00:24stick, made it even uglier. 17 million Americans going without health insurance,
00:30a 17% increase in electric rates, the largest nutritional assistance cut in
00:38American history, leaving Americans hungry. And yet the Independent Committee for a
00:43Responsible Federal Budget condemns this as exploding our debt, spiking it to new
00:49record highs and accelerating the insolvency of Social Security and
00:54Medicare. One thing remains the same. It takes from those with the least and gives
01:01to those with the most, lining the pockets of the super rich with millions in tax
01:07giveaways. It is mean, it is cruel, it is wrong. That's why it's being taken up at
01:14this hour of the morning as they have done throughout this process. Let's reject
01:18this ugly bill and stand up for Americans. I yield back.
