00:00Here in Jiayi in southern Taiwan, residents are assessing the damage after Typhoon Dinas tore through the area on Sunday,
00:08uprooting trees, tearing shop signs from buildings and destroying night markets.
00:13This is the first time in over a century that a typhoon has made landfall in Jiayi,
00:17bringing heavy rain and gusts of up to 180 kilometers per hour.
