A 19-year-old driver has been remanded for three days to assist investigations into a pre-dawn crash on Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1 in Senawang, Negri Sembilan that left an 18-year-old woman critically injured.

00:00A 19-year-old driver has been remanded for three days starting Sunday to assist in investigations
00:07into a car crash that left one person seriously injured on Jalan Persiaran Sernawang 1.
00:14Seremban OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohamed Hatta Chedin said the teenager was detained
00:20after lodging a police report following the accident, which occurred at around 2.55 a.m.
00:26Preliminary investigations found that the proton satria driven by the teen was heading from Sernawang
00:32towards Ampangan when it swerved to avoid a vehicle that had braked suddenly.
00:38The satria then veered off the road, struck a lamppost and a tree, before skidding into the opposite lane
00:43and colliding with a Perodua Axia carrying five people.
00:48The satria driver sustained minor injuries, while an 18-year-old female passenger in the Axia
00:53suffered critical injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit
00:59at Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban.
01:03The other passengers and the Axia driver sustained minor injuries and were treated as outpatients
01:09at the same hospital.
01:11The case is being investigated under Section 42, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
01:19ACP Hatta said a urine test on the teen came back negative for drugs.
01:23Investigations are ongoing.
01:25He also advised motorists to drive cautiously and adhere to traffic rules to avoid accidents.
