Death toll from Texas floods reaches 43, many still missing  Some 43 people, including 15 children, have been confirmed dead following flash floods in central Texas, authorities said on Saturday, July 5, as rescuers continued a frantic search for campers, vacationers and residents who were still missing.  Officials said more than 850 people had been rescued, including some who were clinging to trees, after a sudden storm dumped up to 15 inches of rain in an area around the Guadalupe River, about 85 miles (137 km) northwest of San Antonio.  Among the missing were 27 girls from the Camp Mystic summer camp, Kerrville city manager Dalton Rice said at a press conference on Saturday evening, and there may be others beyond that. 00:00As of 5.30, we have recovered 43 deceased individuals in Kerr County.

00:06Among these who are deceased, we have 28 adults and 15 children.

00:1312 adults pending identification and five children are pending identification at this time.

00:19I tell you, the governor has assured us, along with the federal government,

00:23that we will have all the resources we need, and we do have that.

00:26We've got all the resources we need.

00:28We're in really good shape to keep going for several more days.

00:32We're kind of looking at this in two ways.

00:34Call it the known missing, which is the 27 camp kids that are missing.

00:38We will not put a number on the other side because we just don't know.

00:43Campers are coming in for 4th of July weekend.

00:46People are camped along the riverbank.

00:47People are coming in to visit.

00:49There's a number that we just don't know yet, and we don't know what we don't know.

00:53So as things are starting to develop and as things are starting to move along,

00:57we're not going to put a cap on this.

00:59We are just going to continue until we find everything else.
