00:00It became the foundation of the great state of Colombia as a great South
00:09American state and that we had the union of armies of all the armies that
00:22Venezuela had initially and then it came freedom in Bogota Santa Fe in the Boyacá
00:33Great Battle on the 5th of July of 1811. From that date till August 7th of 1819
00:51only eight years later, only eight years had passed, a month and two days. Soldiers of
01:07this homeland, listen, beloved people of Venezuela, rebel peoples of our Americas, we
01:18had had 300 years of colonialism. The Spanish imperial empire had sent its best
01:25armies and generals. We came out of the darkness of colonial domain and just in
01:36eight years, a month and two days, our founding fathers, with Bolívar at the helm, had built
01:49a new state, a revolutionary state, a great South American state, the great state of Colombia.
01:58They had built a nation and a future project and they had defeated the most powerful army
02:09ever seen in the Americas. And then we defeated them. We defeated the colonialists spiritually
02:20and militarily and militarily and politically. And we defeated politically those who were in favor
02:30of the colonial empire. And we defeated politically the Spanish colonial empire. And we built an army
02:44to free the new Granada state, which is now, which is Colombia today, and part of Panama in Central America. But that was not all. Months went by and a peace treaty was signed.
02:51where the Spanish empire had to
03:20acknowledged Simón Bolívar as the constitutional president and head of the army of Venezuela.
03:28And then he prepared the campaign of Carabobo. And on 1821, July 4th, nine years later, 11 months
03:39and 19 days. The Unified Liberating Army of the Americas headed by Bolívar at Carabobo defeated the most powerful army of the Spanish Empire in this land. And it was a long way from there. Bolívar had sent Sucre
04:05to Panama, which was the safest way to get to the shores of Guayaquil to Panama, which was the safest way to get to the shores of Guayaquil. And to start organizing a liberating South Army. And Bolívar did not stay in Caracas bragging about such
04:34those liberating and strives, but with a geopolitical vision and to an amount of self-sacrifice never seen before in humanity. He took his horse and his troops and he went to the South to join the South campaign.
04:59The Spanish Empire had sought refuge there with powerful troops, well armed troops in Peru. The Peruvian patriots were divided and were fighting amongst themselves, which meant there were trisans and
05:28defeats. And in a sign of despair, they called for Bolívar. And Bolívar knew that the Peruvian oligarchy hated him. And Bolívar asked those oligarchs, are you sure you want me to go there with my army? And they said,
05:46Yes, Bolívar, you are our only hope for salvation. Come as soon as possible. And he sent an advanced army with Sucre. And then he arrived. And he headed the Junim battle.
06:06He could not lead the Ayacucho and Santander battles because
06:16his inner workings of his army. And he named the Cumaná giant Antonio José de Sucre to head the troops there on December 9th of 1824.
06:38When he was at a mountain 4200 meters above sea level, the best troops from Spain with the best firepower and an advantage physical on the terrain. They thought that was the beginning of the end of Bolívar's
07:07Bolívar's libertarian army. But you know officers here, soldiers, you know what was the result of that battle. In only two hours, the Grand National, Grand Colombian Army, a united army,
07:29which had soldiers and officers from all of the Americas led by the great General Antonio José de Sucre defeated the Vice Ken of Peru and declare the absolute defeat of the Spanish Empire in South America. Glory to them.
07:55December 24th. How long had it been? General Figueroa Valdez, from the 5th of July of 1811 to December 9th, 1924. Thirteen years, five months and four days. Unbeatable.

08:45done amongst the liberators in humanity.
08:50And that deed was made by the Sucre and Bolivar Army.
08:58That is true, no one can deny, and that should guide our people today.
09:06Because we are battling intensely and victoriously.
09:14This we must say.
09:21And I say this to the eternal spirit of Commander Chavez, wherever he may be, listening, watching
09:29us.
09:31I can tell you, this is your people, standing up, joined in a perfect military police union,
09:42victorious against all conspiracies of the U.S. empire and advancing as a free country for
09:51the glory and splendor of the Venezuelan homeland and of the bigger South American homeland.
10:03We have the highest moral standards and unity and the best training to continue the roads
10:14set for us by destiny.
10:17We are a people of libertarians.
10:21A year ago, I was right here.
10:32A year ago, exactly, today, it was July 5th, 2024.
10:41And I pledge to you, a pledge that I have fulfilled, I pledge to you, generals, admirals, officers,
10:53soldiers, soldiers, I pledge to all of you and to the people and to Believer and Sucre.
11:02I made the pledge before that flag, which was used by the Liberating United Armies of
11:11South America, our national flag.
11:18When I pledged that before the immortal spirit of our commander Chavez, I said, and I said
11:26to my wife, our first combatant, when we were coming here a year ago, I'm sure this ruling
11:41stick that you have given me, which shines, will never, will never, never ever fall into
11:56the hands of a puppet or in the hands of a man who may betray our homeland, never would
12:08fall into the hands of a fascist.
12:12And this is the commanding stake.
12:16In my hand, in the hand of the people, as commander-in-chief of the Bolivarian army, I hold it steadily
12:22in my hand, like I hold steadily the reins of this country to its definite independence,
12:33great Latin American independence.
12:36So, with pride of being a descendant of the freedom fighters of Latin America, I authorize
12:46this great military parade to commemorate the anniversary of the Bolivarian army and July 5th, 1811 anniversary.
13:03And the commander-in-chief, Vidal Fring, Callejón de Honor, Annalise Kerr.
13:14We are watching the start of a military parade to celebrate the 114th anniversary of the creation of the Bolivarian army and the
13:44commander-in-chief of the Bolivarian army.
13:47The commanding of the Bolivarian army army, the commanding of the Bolivarian army army,
13:52continues in its hands, in its hands, to follow the destiny of the country, the support of the Venezuelans and Venezuelans,
14:00to have a free country, an independent country, and whose commanding of the commanding of the libertador
14:09We are listening to the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, at the moment in which this parade is going to kick off at this moment,
14:19to celebrate, to mark the 214th anniversary of the independence of Venezuela, as well, of the day of the Bolivarian armed forces, as well.
14:31In his remarks, the president mentioned an honorary leader, Simon Bolivar, also the patriots who fought for the independence of the country,
14:43and also of Latin America and America as a whole, as a continent, and to defeat the Spanish Empire as well.
14:52President Maduro highlighted the importance of national unity, the strength of the armed forces, as well to guarantee sovereignty,
15:01to defend the independence of the country in the phase of fascism, extremism, and also in the phase of external aggressions.

21:26The leader of the Bolivarian revolution, the leader of the Bolivarian nation, President
21:41Nicolás Maduro is leading the parade that is taking place at this moment in Caracas.
21:47These are live images of the moment in which the country as a whole is marking the 214th
21:55anniversary of the independence of Venezuela and also there has been several solemn ceremonies
22:04that have been taking place throughout the nation since very early in the morning to mark
22:10this key paramount day for Venezuelans, July 5th, the day of independence, as well as the
22:17day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
22:25He honored Liberator Simon Bolivar, also Antonio José de Sucre and the Patriots who fought
22:33for the independence of the Bolivarian nation against the Spanish Empire.
22:39This is the moment in which the parade, the military and civil parade of Caracas is going
22:44to begin to celebrate, to mark the 214th anniversary of the Venezuela's independence, of the signing
22:54of the independence of Venezuela and also is the day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
23:01There are going to be a huge deployment of this military parade to honor also the capability,
23:10the military capabilities of the country, a country that is willing to safeguard, to protect their
23:16civil society.
23:18Also in this crucial moment after many years of misinformation campaigns, of also the extremist
23:27attempts to shift the political path of Venezuela.
23:32They haven't fulfilled this goal and this is a moment of reaffirmation, of unity, of self-determination
23:43of the country to maintain this path of political transformations, of social transformations in a country that
23:53is also putting the people at the very centre of political decision making of the country, at the hands of the communes of the country,
24:04at the hands of the communal circuits that are the ones that are at the forefront as well of pushing the nation forward.
24:15And this also is a moment of this reaffirmation, of renovation of the vows of the country that is willing to keep moving forward,
24:27to keep developing in their very own way under political as well determination.
24:34There is at this moment a military parade that is going to be taking place in the capital of Venezuela, but also there have been many, many events happening since very early in the morning.
24:49A solemn act at the National Pantheon of Venezuela opened the celebrations of the 214th anniversary of the independence of Venezuela in honor of the patriots who, with courage,
25:04and sacrifice, fought for the independence of the Bolivarian nation. There were also floral wraths that were placed at the foot of the monument of the liberator Simon Bolivar in a symbolic gesture of gratitude and memory of the Venezuelan people and in tribute to the legacy of liberator Simon Bolivar as well.
25:28And with this tribute, the country reaffirmed its commitment to the values of sovereignty and solidarity that inspired the liberator Simon Bolivar more than two centuries ago to take this deed and also in that national pantheon,
25:49which is a historic place, which is a historic place that houses the remains of illustrious figures of Venezuelan history.
25:56That was one of the first events that took place today on July 5th as well. During this day, there were also several commemorative activities among them.
26:09There is now one taking place, a traditional civic military parade that symbolizes the discipline, commitment and pride of the armed forces for the homeland and also their willingness to keep protecting the country from all foreign attempts to destabilize the country.
26:32The President, Nicolás Maduro, the first combatant, Celia Flores, are leading this parade at this moment. We can see the huge deployment of the military forces that are carrying out this traditional parade, military and civic parade at this moment.
26:54We can see President Nicolás Maduro, we can see President Nicolás Maduro and Celia Flores leading this moment in the city of Caracas, capital of Venezuela, with a whole country that is watching along with also many people that are on the streets waiting to see this deployment, this parade, this traditional parade that takes place every July 5th,
27:17as a moment that symbolizes the strength and determination to freedom to free itself from the Spanish colonialism and how it also that heritage remains very much alive in Venezuela's determination to keep defending their sovereignty, their independence, their freedom in the face of any attempts from the extreme right wing.
27:46In the face of any attempts from the far right of the Western powers and also in the face of misinformation campaigns that have been targeting so heavily the country, Venezuela, that suffers as well the impositions of over 1,000 sanctions, unilateral coercive measures imposed by the government of the United States and also its Western allies and the European
28:16European Commission as well and this is the way in which Venezuela is saying we are here, we are united, we are determined to keep fighting for our ideals, to keep very much alive the memory of those liberators who fought until the death for Venezuela to become a free and independent state like it is today
28:46The idea of the ideals of Commander Hugo Chavez who since its early moments in power to try to draw a path of independence based on and having the most vulnerable people at the centre of its political initiatives, its social initiatives, there have been so many missions taking place in Venezuela for the past
29:14in Venezuela for the past two decades that are putting the people at the center and try to,
29:24and it has been a way in which the country has managed to overcome all the difficulties imposed
29:32by foreign interferences, attempts against the country, and that is, it has been the way in
29:39which it has managed to overcome the economic difficulties as well, and how it is a nation
29:47that is at the forefront of the region in matters of developing, of its economic growth, of social development as well.
29:59There have been so many intentions to provide with housing to the people, to the most vulnerable people.
30:07So this is a moment in which Venezuela is recalling all of these achievements that have been taking place
30:15for several years now in the midst of these political campaigns and these attempts by the extreme right wing
30:24to try to overcome and to try to create a change, to make a change of political path in the country,
30:37and that hasn't been able because of the strong leadership of President Nicolás Maduro.
30:44Let's recall that July 5th is a day of celebration, is a day in which the people remembers as well as the 5th of July
30:55and is a national independence holiday of Venezuela that marks every year on July 5th the anniversary
31:04since the enactment of the 1811 Venezuelan Declaration of Independence, making the country the first Spanish colony in South America to declare independence.
31:17Let's recall that this Venezuela was the first South American nation that achieved its independence from the Spanish colonialism,
31:27and this was thanks to the struggle, to the fight of Liberators Simon Bolivar and other great patriots from that era that helped to achieve this deed as well.
31:40In recent years it also marks the National Armed Forces Day and to honour the faithful service of all the serving men and women and veterans of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela,
31:56this is a symbolic act. We can see the music that is following this celebration. It is also led by President Nicolás Maduro himself and all the main leaders of the Bolivarian government at this hour.
32:17President Nicolás Maduro is also greeting all the people present in this ceremony at this hour and at this moment is set to begin the parade, the Caracas Independence Day Parade or joint civil military parade of the 5th of July that is one of the largest in the Americas. Let's listen.
32:44And March 5th, 1811, the Congress declared Venezuela as an independent republic.
33:05The founding document read, we, with the will and the authority vested in us, we declare that our United Provinces will be, from this moment, in fact and in right, be considered independent state.
33:35With the clear mission that our president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, leads the army and with the spirit of our eternal commander, Hugo Rafael Chávez-Fríez,
33:58Maduro is making everything necessary to bring police in the army and the nation together to develop the nation with a protagonist role of all Venezuelans.
34:18This massive, popular, police, military parade begins.
34:27Parade begins.
34:40Here is the Venezuelan flag, which is the maximum symbol of Venezuelan identity.
34:55The first soldier on a horse pays tribute to Miranda General.
35:05Another horse is carrying the sword of Bolivarian liberator, Simón Bolívar.
35:21And the other horses are carrying the swords of all the other great generals of the independence of Venezuela.
35:31Now marching by and front of the presidential tribune.
35:41The Venezuelan people and people all around the world.
35:56Before the presidential tribune, it's passing now.
36:06The division general, José Ramón Figuera Valdez, commanding this parade on an armor vehicle, followed by Vice Almirant Gregorio.
36:21Next, you're watching now.
36:36A forest of flags which represent all of the units of our glorious army coming together in one block, demonstrating union, discipline, loyalty, and strength.
37:03And above all, unity spirit on this very important day for the republic.
37:13A republic with heritage of independence and absolute freedom, with a vision to keep that spirit in the hearts of the Venezuelan people.
37:31Next, a group of historical colonel, Jender José Méndez-Garón Figuera Valdez,
37:41a group of historical crews of the army.
37:47With their uniforms, they are approaching the head tribune, the honor guard of Simone Believer honor guard created in 1815, which provides security to the army.
37:57Piñase Hernández, Comandante del Batallón 24 de junio, donde a Bolívar y Chávez rendimos memoria en el dominio.
38:07su guardia de su guardia de su guardia de honor.
38:17And with this guard of honor, they are paying tribute to commanders Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez.
38:33For the presidential tribune, the Caracas battalion is marching by with God, revolution, and the homeland, commander by Lieutenant Colonel Mujica.
39:01This battalion was first made up of Caracas' native people.
39:21And now, the historical representation of the Ayacucho battle, they are holding the standards of the Pizarro, which represent the defeat of the Spanish Empire.
39:43Defeated by the army of Bolívar, who were not repressing anyone but conquering victory and independence for all of America, all of the Americas.
39:58Now we see the battalion from the headquarters, commanded by Lieutenant José García, which carries the name of General Daniel Florencio, who was an aide de champ to General Bolívar, who accompanied him through all the battles.
40:26He was also present at the Second Decisive Battle of Carabobo, which sealed independence for Venezuela.
40:44Next, the group representing the historical soldiers of the laden battle.
40:56These are students from professional troops of Bolivarian army of the division José Félix Río, commanded by Commander Antonio Valladares.
41:14They are representing the men and women who fought the Spanish army in the Hulín battle, also called the Silent Battle.
41:26In 1846, Ezequiel Zamora, the great funeral, gave a cry of victory.
41:46These soldiers are wearing the traditional, historical outfits of the army at the time.
42:08Now these men and women represent the troops that took part in the armed insurrection of 1994 on November 27th.
42:34which propelled Hugo Chávez to the public eye.
42:56The time of the people has come, and it's time for all the peoples in the continent to come together on this era of the Bicentennial.
43:14This is the sovereign people, the troop of five roots symbolized by Simón Bolívar, Francisco de Miranda,
43:29Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, and Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez,
43:41for continuity of the revolution in this country.
43:47And now we have a representation of the different native peoples of this land, each with their own culture and language,
44:01but coming together as one country.
44:11Now a representation of social movements, mobilizing debate in society, designing ideas to bring changes in this revolutionary society.
44:25And now we have a representation of productive councils from PDVSA, the great oil company,
44:37and of representatives of the great mission Venezuela Transport,
44:43promoting policies to promote an integral development.
44:57And now we see representatives of communal military brigades,
45:03a program created in 2022 by Commander Maduro
45:19to recover educational infrastructure,
45:25to strengthen communities.
45:29Today we have a homeland.
45:31Today we have a homeland.
45:33No one should make a mistake about this.
45:35Today we continue building the society with a military fusion.
45:41We are building a fully independent country.
45:45A socialist country.
45:47We are one army, one voice.
45:57For people with the army.

46:03Security forces.
46:13And the forces.

46:31We are one force.
46:33One voice.
46:35With people, and the armed forces.
46:39fused together with committed for a free sovereign independent country. Now the Bolivarian police
46:52was born in 2009 as an idea of Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez-Frias to have a police force
47:07defending the law. And now we see the Motorized Feminine Brigade. These are all female police
47:23women. Controlling traffic.
47:53These are motorized units which were fast to action created on May 22, 2015 to control
48:10criminal gangs in the city. The Venezuelan state, in order to guarantee safety in the country,
48:19has implemented a plan of peace quadrants, which are geographic areas of 2 to 5 square kilometers.
48:36Now we see the police patrol corps of the National Police, who also control traffic, trying to
48:50prevent accidents. This is a national unit of the National Police Force.
49:05They carry raids to prevent crime, patrolling communities, working on those peace quadrants.
49:28To quickly respond to any public disorder. Now we see the GAN division of the police in charge
49:52of identifying and dismembering criminal bands operated in national territory within Venezuela.
50:05Now we see the tactical units created by Hugo Chávez-Frias in 2009. This tactical operations unit is in charge.
50:20Now we see the tactical operations of high risk and complexity.
50:25We were live to Venezuela. We were witnessing the joint civil military parade of the 5th of July,
50:33where President Nicolás Maduro offers statements marking the 214th anniversary of Venezuela's independence
50:41and Bolivarian Armed Forces Day and Bolivarian Armed Forces Day. During his intervention at this solemn event,

51:12to guarantee independence, the defense of independence of the country in the face of fascism, extremism and in the face of external aggressions.
