00:00the offensive player of the year award over the last six years has been a non-quarterback
00:07award which i'm totally fine with it doesn't lead to me usually at least once or twice a season
00:13asking hey any interest on this quarterback i almost feel like lamar not winning it last year
00:19maybe gives us an idea that this is really just going to be non do we ever have two quarterbacks
00:25like one mvp one offensive player of the year like i would like to see like the last couple
00:29years of this award to see if that would even be possible is that just like predetermined in 2019
00:34like i think lamar won not the official one yeah but like i think maybe it was because he won mvp
00:42like he took both home well that was the thing we used to have guys win both right yeah um i don't
00:47think we would have had a situation where like josh wins mvp lamar wins offensive player of the year
00:53now the last six years of this award we've seen three wide receivers and three running backs so
00:57let me just start with this donny would you find do you think that you would be more attracted
01:01to the running back position or the wide receiver position when evaluating this market wide receiver
01:06position because it's it's so hard for a running back even though you saw last year like derrick
01:11henry was sensational same thing with saquon barkley like that's the anomaly though like we were supposed
01:15to be getting away from the running back position in the nfl now we have a resurgence but understand this
01:20much easier for a wide receiver to make it through 17 weeks than a running back and certainly a running back
01:24running at a high level like we're supposed to believe like the thousand yard season is good
01:29well obviously we know that with 17 games that has to be elevated when you're running back run for
01:33like 1400 yards oh my goodness that's amazing like guys are running for 2000 last year which is
01:38absolutely incredible but for me it's always going to be a wide receiver why it's a passing league
01:43they're going to get more opportunities to make more big plays yeah i agree with donny i think the only
01:48running back that i would buy into obviously outside of saquon would be derrick henry at 14 to 1
01:53just because of the 2000 yard marker if anybody could duplicate it i do believe it's derrick henry
01:59in a run-based offense with baltimore but donny's right let's not forget a couple seasons ago when
02:05tyree kill was on that type of marker right what do you have 16 1700 towards the end of the regular
02:11season we were talking about him for offensive player of the year and then he got hurt and then
02:15we threw the 2000 yards out the window there's the potential with some of these players players like
02:21justin jefferson players like jamar chase you look at cd lamb now with that coming back for a full
02:26season there is the potential and great value i mean when you look at just the numbers alone nine to
02:32one on jamar chase he wins a triple crown we know that joe burrow and that offense are gonna chuck it
02:38all over the yard i mean there's great value there i'll just say this as it relates to tyreek if you do
02:43believe that tyreek can have a bounce back type of season now and being 100 healthy the 35 to 1 makes
02:51sense if you do believe that he's completely bought in this season the problem is i'm not
02:57bought in to miami as a whole i'll throw the shot out there list of players last year 170 or more
03:05targets jamar chase malik neighbors that's the list and neighbors finished five targets away from chase
03:11despite playing two less games we expect improved quarterback play throughout the season and the
03:17offensive player of the year award race is not really about record i know someone would say well
03:22that's why saquon beat out chase yes but also saquon ran for 2000 yards and i think that that catches
03:28the eye actually a little bit more than a triple crown does necessarily catch an eye people are going
03:34to remember the saquon season last year significantly more than they're going to remember the jamar chase
03:37season malik neighbors i mean with russell wilson last year we saw he could still throw the deep ball
03:45i think malik neighbors has a like sometimes we throw out odds where it's like hey this guy can
03:51just beat the number like i think malik neighbors legitimately is already one of the five best
03:56receivers i don't know how the lsu stuff's nuts like i know we joke the wide receiver stuff yes like
04:01the fact that we had the chase jefferson combination and then right behind it is neighbors brian thomas jr
04:07both on the same team i mean it's completely ridiculous yeah and i'm buying i mean 35 to 1
04:12for malik neighbors to have a dynamic year and potentially maybe 1500 1700 yards depending upon
04:19the type of success with russell wilson it isn't an out of the realm of possibility especially when you
04:24have a coach with his back against the wall and brian dable that has to win football games get the
04:30football and feed your best player i think it's great value i think brian thomas at 40 to 1 you know
04:35we know that trevor lawrence comes back we know liam cohen in that offensive attack wants to have
04:40balance but still chuck baker mayfield had 4500 yards uh with his you know calling the plays in
04:47tampa so you can't say he's not going to eat in jacksonville so not bad value across the board
04:52do you know one player i'm probably going to downgrade just a little bit is in second place
04:55right now it's jamar chase look at his division cleveland's gonna have a really good defense you see
04:59the pittsburgh steel is loading up at cornerback take a look at jair alexander now in a
05:03unbelievable cornerback field in baltimore ravens maybe it is a slight downgrade for the guy i would
05:08say jefferson for me because of mccarthy
05:10you
