00:00Let's look at the NFL's regular season offensive player of the year award.

00:09Now, we alluded to it the entire show.

00:11There is a sneaky way to find a six to one return.

00:15I'll let you tell us how to do that, Joe.

00:17What do you like?

00:19Well, at this point, it feels like a foregone conclusion.

00:21I'd say Quentin Barkley is going to be offensive player of the year, right?

00:24You look at the numbers.

00:25He is minus 450.

00:27Now, what was the one thing that really held us back from getting too excited about Saquon

00:30Barkley coming into the season?

00:32It was health.

00:33Derek Henry might be part of it, too.

00:36But it was also health, right?

00:38It was Saquon Barkley misses time and all this stuff.

00:41And you have to wonder at a certain point, does the volume catch up with him?

00:45Now, I am not wishing that upon him.

00:46I'm just saying, if you're looking at the board right now and you're looking at opportunities,

00:51if something should happen to Saquon where, let's say, unfortunately, he had a roll of

00:55an ankle or something to that effect, and he had to miss a couple weeks, I don't know

00:59if he still wins this award.

01:01Because part of him winning this award is not just how he's performed, but also performing

01:04down that stretch run.

01:06It's not fair, but it's always what's in the mind of everybody else and what's in front

01:11of the media that votes for these awards.

01:13These awards are media awards.

01:14There's narrative behind them.

01:16So for Jamar Chase at plus 600, it's a fascinating long shot investment.

01:20Because we mentioned earlier how amazing of a season Jamar Chase is having.

01:26In fact, he's got a shot at the triple crown of wide receiving.

01:29He leads the league in catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.

01:33He would only be the fifth player in NFL history since the merger to win that triple crown

01:38of receiving.

01:39That's an impressive mark.

01:41That's history of its own right.

01:43Maybe it's not 2,000 yards rushing.

01:44Maybe it's not Eric Dickerson's record.

01:46But if we fall short of those two things via injury down the stretch in the month of

01:50December here in his last couple weeks, it does make you wonder if the Jamar Chase investment

01:56as a long shot, again, there's no value on Saquon.

01:59So as a long shot at six to one, it's intriguing because that's been the one thing that has

02:03haunted Saquon Barkley basically his entire NFL career.

02:07Now you can hang part of that offensive line, right?

02:09The Eagles offensive line is so much better.

02:11The holes are so much larger for him to run through.

02:13It's not like those years where the Giants are letting him get hit in the backfield.

02:19But at the same time, we're talking about another historical fantasy season and reality

02:24season that Jamar Chase is putting up and nobody's really talking about.

02:28But if an injury should occur, all of a sudden, I think Jamar Chase would potentially have

02:33the opportunity to leapfrog him at the very end of this award.

02:36And we've seen a lot of leapfrogging in these markets a couple of years ago, right?

02:41We had Justin Jefferson was like our favorite going in.

02:43There was a time where it got close and then he jumped ahead again.

02:47Last year, it was a lot of Christian McCaffrey stuff.

02:49It was a couple other guys.

02:50We saw Christian McCaffrey even get into the MVP conversation, Brock Burdy.

02:53And at the end of the day, Jamar leapfrogged everybody, right?

02:56So this last month is very focused and hyper focused on how you finish.

03:03So that's something that Saquon Barkley really has to finish for this to come to fruition.

03:06I don't know.

03:07I think some would argue that Barkley and Henry have already done enough.

03:11And then when you look at Jamar Chase with the Triple Crown, I mean, in baseball, wasn't

03:14Vlad chasing Triple Crown the same year Judge was hitting 62 and 63, and it was just never

03:19even a contest.

03:20So I don't know how important that is to people.

03:22But you bring up a great stat and a great point.
