Two men suspected to be criminals were shot dead in a shoot-out with police at the North-South Expressway entrance ramp here at 8.05am on Saturday (July 5).

00:00Two men were shot dead in a shootout with police along the North-South Expressway near
00:06Jitra on Saturday morning.
00:08The duo were believed to be criminals involved in serious crimes and they were linked to
00:12a gang in Klang which has more than 30 members.
00:15KEDA Police Chief Datuk Fisul Sales said,
00:18During the incident that happened around 8am, policemen patrolling the area came across
00:22a suspicious 4-wheel drive vehicle and instructed the vehicle to stop.
00:27He said the suspects then opened fire at the police vehicle, ending in a shootout that
00:31left the two suspects killed in their vehicle.
00:34He said police found two firearms, several bullets, a machete and tools believed to be
00:39used for carrying out criminal activities.
00:42He said a background check on one of the suspects, aged 41, revealed that the suspect had more
00:47than 40 criminal records while the identity of the other suspect was still unknown.
00:53The remains of the two suspects had been sent to the Sultana Bahia Hospital in Al-Ostah
00:57for autopsy.
00:59Police said the case is being investigated for attempted murder.
