00:00We followed with inspiration the voting of the borough of Brent to twin with the great ancient city of Nablus.
00:09This is an opportunity to thank the Brent Friendship Association, our good friend Ihtisham, and all members of the committee for the great work they have done to get to this point.
00:26The twinship between cities is the best form of friendship. It sustains the relationship at an equitable level. It builds a two-way street whereby Nablus would benefit from the great borough of Brent, the brilliance of its residents.
00:45But also Brent will benefit from Nablus, a great Palestinian city with its historic, cultural, economic, commercial history.
00:56And we are very much looking forward to the formalization of the twinship and the signing of the twinship after that historic vote.
01:06This is a testament yet again of the British people and the people of Brent and the councillors of Brent and the British public at large support and solidarity with the cause of Palestine.
01:20And this is a very clear message to the British government here from the local government level that the British people, that the British cities want and seek and demand that the British government help us and take the responsibility to end the ongoing genocide and to recognize the state of Palestine and to move with us and walk with us towards a better future for all.
