At St Thomas More's Catholic School in Newstead, a Year 6 student Dustin Graham is shaving off his waist-length locks to raise money for the Cancer Council. He plans to donate his hair for wigs. He has raised over $3000, more than twice his goal.

Now, as you can see, Dustin has seven plaits in his hair.

So he's invited, he's chosen seven people that are going to come forward and each cut one of these plaits.

Why do we have plaits and why are they being cut off, Dustin?

They're being cut off for weeks to go people with leukemia.

Yes, of course. The people with leukemia have to shave their heads as part of the treatment.
