After seeing three of this family members battle cancer, Jax Carson, aged 11, cut his long hair off to support kids with cancer. Here's what he and Sam Carson had to say about it. Footage by Robert Peet

00:00How long was your hair Jax? About 20, no 30 to 40 centimetres at some bits. Tell me the process,
00:10what did you do and why? So it started one day I wanted a mullet but like yeah like I just wanted
00:19to grow it for a little bit and I'd get it long. So what made you think to cut your hair off?
00:25One day like it was like it's always annoying and stuff so yeah one day I decided to cut it off.
00:36Yeah I was very proud of him. We first set a target to get $500 and then it skyrocketed like to 2,000.
00:44So I was so proud every day we'd check the tally and it just made me really proud that he can do
00:50something can help kids like never struggling. All my cousins and friends and aunties all donated
00:58like 50, 100, 20, big amounts. Were you surprised? Yes. What was the best thing about it?
01:11Like I don't have long hair to distract me anymore at school and stuff.
