The world pays tribute to Diogo Jota

Emotional tributes have been made by many of football's biggest names, following the shock death of Diogo Jota

00:07I mean, someone who's obviously very highly thought of off the pitch.

00:43I think that was probably the part that everyone was hoping that it was false news.

00:48But sadly, it's not.

00:51And it still proves that it's really not what can happen.

01:04It's a reminder for everyone, I think, for every sport, for every human being,

01:10that we don't know if tomorrow we'll be there.

01:14Just getting married, having his young children, you know, looking forward to all the great things

01:24that he was going to do here and in his life, and it's just so heartbreaking.

01:55which is amazing, really.

01:56And it shows the player, you know, when there was a big game, he would turn up.

02:00I had the opportunity to meet Diogo at the World Cup in Qatar a couple of years ago.

02:07Fantastic person, great son, husband, father.

02:17Our world of soccer player, we have to be close to family, friends,

02:33to all those who are closer and have a poor relationship with me.

02:38Diogo was what we all want to be.

02:43He was a reference for Portuguese football.

02:46Today is a really, really sad day

02:50because one of us, two of us, lost our lives so young

02:58and this is not a good day.
