00:36I was laying in bed and I got a call from my mum and she said Jota had died and I was
00:43like, what?
00:44I was so shocked I sprung out of bed immediately and I couldn't believe it.
00:48I absolutely couldn't believe it.
00:51I didn't want to believe it at all.
01:00I cried instantly.
01:04He's the only reason I actually started to watch.
01:06Well, it's not the reason I started watching Liverpool because I grew up as a Liverpool fan.
01:10But, yeah, he's like my main player in the team and if he was subbed, I'd be like fuming
01:17and I wouldn't watch the rest of the game.
01:19And if he wasn't on the start in 11 but he was on the bench and he'd come on, then I'd
01:23start watching because he was literally the only player I enjoyed watching on the pitch
01:27for some reason.
01:30I have, we've put red and white roses down.
01:50I bought a scarf, it's grey, it just says she'll never walk alone on it.
01:56I bought that and that's been laid as well.
01:58And I've, like, left tributes on my Facebook page and everything for it.
02:01Not alive, no, but he used to see them with his cars.
02:04He used to like his cars, you know, when he'd come, you know, like, he'd see them driving them.
02:08And he'd wait, you know, I only live over there, like, he'd wait, yeah, you know, he wasn't there.
02:14What?
02:15We didn't know him as such, you know what I mean.
02:17I bet the players are devastated.
02:18I bet the players are devastated.
02:19Is anyone devastated?
02:20They love that.
02:21And they love that.
02:22And I know, like, loved the Pelotonians, you can contact me, saying that football is one of those things that transcends the normal tribal rivalries when something tragic happens.
02:28And this will be another case, and I'm absolutely certain that you will see all sorts of colours of rosettes and rosettes.
02:35and scarves and banners and whatever, mementos that people will leave, because it could be any football club, couldn't it?
02:39And they love that.
02:40And I know, like, loved the Pelotonians, you can contact me, saying that football is one of those things that transcends the normal tribal rivalries when something tragic happens.
02:52And this will be another case, and I'm absolutely certain that you will see all sorts of colours of rosettes and scarves and banners and whatever, mementos that people will leave,
03:02because it could be any football club, couldn't it?
03:10And our thoughts today, primarily, are with Diego's family, his wife and his children.
03:32And what he says, as an artist, is the reason the man doesn't want to get his evidence.
03:37And he's a good guy who's not on it.
03:38He's a good guy to get into his feelings.
03:39And what he says, is that what he says?
03:40He's a good guy to buy you, but he'll go for the owners.
03:43...the 10 years...
03:45...the 10th pan with the 10th pan, he says...
03:48...the 10th pan, he says...
03:50...jees, thanks about this.
03:54...yeah...
03:56Yeah, that's awesome.
04:27I'm devastated, devastated. It's like, unless you're part of the football and family, people probably won't get it, but it's like you're new and you're so young kids.
04:57And I just can't believe it.
05:39I'm just devastated that he's so young, he's just got married, he's got three kids.
05:54It's just so sad, isn't it?
05:56But what a great footballer for us.
05:58He was the slaughter.
05:59He was the slaughter.
06:01I'm trying to think, was his last goal against the Blues?
06:05I think it was.
06:08Well, all the memories will live on forever.
06:12Great.
06:24Next season, it's going to have like a, I don't know, hanging over it because like, he should be here.
06:31He should be playing, but I know he's going to be watching and over with pride and yeah, we're the team and the club and the fans.
06:40We're, we're all going to miss him.
06:43So, sorry.
06:45Sorry.
07:15How nice is it?
07:45It's okay.

08:45Thank you so much, thank you.
08:50He was samba, but I better sing his name the whole game.
08:55Like when Shankly passed away, Shankly, Shankly.
08:59I'd hear it, and I'd hear it.
09:03I'd hear some of my haters.
09:06We've been through the block.
09:10Even if the older passer wouldn't be known to the club, the haters.
09:14When something like that happens, it's a tragedy.
09:31Devastated, I couldn't believe it.
09:34So cool, just devastated.
09:3828 years of age.
09:41Three little kids.
09:43I just got married ten days ago.
09:46I'm not breaking.
09:48I'm not breaking.
09:50I'm not breaking.
09:52I'm not breaking.
09:53The first time I heard is I'll tell you, right?
09:56I can't do it.
09:57I'm not breaking, I can't do it.
09:59I'm not breaking.
10:00It's a little bit, but I think I can just put it on.
10:06I think that's why.
10:08I think it's all in the head, it's pretty good.
10:10I think it's all in the head.
10:11I know you've got to go and move that to the ball to that.
10:13I'm going to take a step back, keep driving all the wires.
10:38I also brought this home today.
10:50So let's go get back to the quarry에서도.
11:56I would like to say that today the Portuguese football is absolutely devastated, we are all in the fight, there is the Federation of Football, there is this generation of players, and what was today the Diogo, and if me permitam, also the André.
13:15The clubs are in struggle, and it is a moment of deep sadness. Thank you all.
13:22My wife and his career, when we just started, you know, he's done an incredible job here at Liverpool Football Club, one of their greatest strikers, and, you know, just getting married, having his young children, looking forward to all the great things that he was going to do here and in his life,
13:38and it's just so heartbreaking and devastating for people who have, you know, woke up to the news this morning, and, you know, it's hard, you know, I came here for a local government conference, and then just to hear that sad news,
13:50and then I've been here, and I've been over at Everton today, and just seeing the outpouring across the whole of the city is, you know, it's incredible what our condolences are,
14:00and our thoughts today, primarily are with Diogo's family, with his wife and his children.
14:06Let me start with Jota, because this is devastating news, and I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying our first thoughts are going to be with his family and his friends in particular.
14:23There are millions of Liverpool fans, but also football fans and non-fans, who will also be shocked by this.
14:31I think Liverpool Football Club have just put a statement out, as I understand it, but it is devastating, and it is really important that we bear in mind just how difficult a period this will be for his friends and for his family.
14:45I just wanted to get your initial reaction to that news.
14:47Probably like everyone else, complete shock, sort of one of those moments where you're hoping it's not true.
15:01Yeah, it's completely devastating, isn't it?
15:04I mean, someone who's obviously very highly thought of off the pitch, which is the most important thing as a person, what's he like as a man?
15:11And everyone that you speak to just says the character of the guy is just incredible, so chirpy, so bubbly, always with a smile on his face.
15:20I think you saw that on the football pitch as well, and he was arguably one of my favourite players.
15:26When you think about what he did on the pitch, it's everything on the pitch, but it's the work away from the pitch as well.
15:32It's the little things that he used to do away from the pitch with integrating into the community and understanding what the city is all about, and that's why fans love him as well.
15:44There'll just be a shock element more than anything for a long period of time, and as and when the players do start to meet up again, it'll feel so wrong.
15:57You'll feel an element of guilt that one of your players isn't there, and yeah, it's just such a sad moment.
16:05Is there any specific performances or moments or anything like that that really sticks out to you?
16:11I mean, I think there was the Arsenal goal where he sat Ramsdale on his backside, wasn't it?
16:16I mean, that was just so cheeky and so much quality that he had.
16:20Yeah, I think there's probably far too many to really nail one down, but that one sits out, or stands out, sorry, should I say, because of how cheeky it was and the quality and how calm he looked in front of goal.
16:38How were you remembering, really, as a player and as a guy?
16:41As we spoke about, I think the type of person, happy, smiling all the time, infectious, even when he wasn't in the team, whenever I've been at games, he was a joker amongst the pack as well.
16:59I think you could see that from the outside looking in.
17:01But then as a player, a brilliant goal scorer and instinctive goal scorer, and someone who left everything out on the pitch, and I think that's all you can ask for.
