00:00Frankie, we're going to make a Mac on the grill on location today on BoxMac.
00:16What was the last time we did a 4th of July episode?
00:19It's been a couple years, hasn't it?
00:20I remember, it was when you did Chicken No. 2.
00:22We had Angry Kirby, Zach brought steamed hams.
00:25Yes.
00:25Gloria was very small.
00:27Yep.
00:27So here's the deal, the holiday was coming up.
00:29Wouldn't it be nice to give them a BoxMac 4th of July?
00:31And we had just been sent these commissary 4th of July Macs.
00:35That's right, yeah, for the military bases, the Freedom Macs.
00:37As for the Mac, they are a smidge exclusive as they are only available at U.S. military, uh, commissaries.
00:44Whether good or bad, this is an opportunity to try it without having to raise your right hand.
00:48Freedom's choice.
00:49That's pretty cool.
00:50You know what, this would make a 4th of July episode.
00:52Duh-huh.
00:53And so we were starting to prepare for the shoot and John goes,
00:56Frankie, do you know what happened to those Macs?
00:58Yeah, I asked Frankie, like, did you maybe take them home?
01:00Because I don't know if there's something else in the box that you wanted to take home.
01:03I'm like, take them home.
01:04No, I didn't take them home.
01:05Then it occurred to me, like, wait a minute, did we really use these Macs in an episode?
01:09Yeah.
01:10But it's an episode that's not released yet.
01:11Yeah.
01:12It's in the can, so to speak.
01:13Yes.
01:13I had to go back to the audio on the audio recorder and listen to the episode.
01:16Yeah.
01:17He goes, Frankie, we're both old men with bad memories.
01:19So then I was like, well, what could we do?
01:21And he goes, Mac on the grill?
01:22Mac on the grill?
01:23This is completely untested, untried, ridiculous idea.
01:27Once you've done some prep at home, which is cook your pasta, you could do everything
01:30else on Frankie and Nina's slightly neglected grill.
01:34I don't grill a lot.
01:36The first thing I thought when you were like, we could do Mac on the grill was, won't it all
01:39fall through the grating?
01:41I've got a whole set up here you can see, an extensive collection of tools and cheeses
01:46and delicious things.
01:47What have the chips got to do with anything?
01:49The chips are going to be the topping.
01:51What?
01:52It's a silly thing, okay?
01:53Look, we're going to have thin streams of ketchup and mustard on top of the Mac for serving.
01:57This is crazy.
01:58That's graham-worthy right there.
01:59I think this is going to be a fun time.
02:00Yeah?
02:01Do you think it'll be tasty?
02:02I think it'll be edible for sure.
02:03Well, that's a start.
02:04I've got some pre-made elbow pasta, we're going to put that on the grill with the elements
02:09of a cheese sauce.
02:10Okay?
02:11I've got a pound of Velveeta cheese here, carnation evaporated milk, and then I'm going
02:15to add to that some Cabot Seriously Sharp, this is the Aged Seriously Sharp, not their
02:20base one, and I've got some smoked Gouda.
02:22And that whole pan is going to go on the grill and the grill is actually going to heat up the
02:25cheese sauce and make it all melt together.
02:27Then in addition, I've got some Market Basket natural casing frankfurters here and a nice Angus
02:33beef burger.
02:34I'm going to cook both those on the grill, we're going to cut them up and put them into the
02:37mac, mix it up, and we're going to have a delicious grill mac.
02:40No way.
02:41We're actually going to put some mustard in to make the cheese sauce as well, that'll
02:43be nice.
02:44Genius.
02:45We're also going to put some mayo in to make the cheese sauce, that'll add a nice creaminess
02:47to it.
02:48My kid loves ketchup with french fries.
02:49Yeah.
02:50You know, what I've got-
02:51I'm just doing my reading.
02:52The thing I'm wondering is where do I reach to light?
02:54How do?
02:55That's the question.
02:56How do?
02:57I mean, I smell the gas.
02:58Boom.
02:59We're lit.
03:02One burner is lit.
03:03Wah-ha-ha.
03:04We've got a grill.
03:05I'm going to heat the grill up, and I've got my cheese grinder today, this is a new purchase
03:09of mine.
03:10Cheese grinder?
03:11Could you take charge of the Velveeta?
03:12You're going to cut it up into small cubes, and I'm going to work on grinding cheese.
03:16Do you have any Fourth of July traditions that you do?
03:18Well, we'll go to some parade, I suppose.
03:20Yep.
03:21We just went to New York City.
03:22New York City.
03:23Oh yeah, New York City.
03:24New York City.
03:25New York City.
03:26New York City.
03:27Yes.
03:28One thing about this city I've always felt, though, it's a little gross.
03:30Yeah.
03:31You know, Rocky IV, Team America, Independence Day itself, of course.
03:36Uh-huh.
03:37Those are my go-tos, for sure.
03:38Facebook videos.
03:39Yeah.
03:40Keeps serving me this guy named Superhuman.
03:43It's human with two Ms. Uh-huh.
03:44He does this backyard stunt type stuff.
03:47Hillbilly jackassery.
03:49Uh-huh.
03:50Every video is basically the same.
03:51Yep.
03:52The only variance is how differently he hurts himself.
03:54So he'll stand on a table or something, and he'll go, uh, hey, what's going on?
03:59This is Superhuman, and today is the table of macaroni and cheese.
04:05This is for all the juggalos and juggalettes.
04:07Do not try this at home, and I hope you like it.
04:09Whoop whoop.
04:10And then he takes his shirt off.
04:12Yeah.
04:13And then he starts trying to psych himself up, and he goes,
04:15.
04:17And then he leaps onto, it could be barbed wire.
04:20It could be a concrete slab.
04:22God.
04:23It could be a table.
04:24It could, just anything that's destructive.
04:25Yeah, yeah.
04:26And then he screams for dear life, because he injures himself permanently.
04:30Of course.
04:31My back!
04:37My .
04:41And then you'll see him next time.
04:43Yeah.
04:43It always cuts mid-pain.
04:44Yeah.
04:45Today, he is going to attitude adjust me through a table of carnage.
04:49This is for our juggalos and juggalettes.
04:51Do not try this at home.
04:52I hope you like it.
04:53Whoop whoop.
04:54And is he still actively making new ones of these?
04:59Yes.
05:00I believe he was originally featured on a show called Tosh.
05:022.0?
05:03Yes.
05:04Do the juggalos and juggalettes appreciate what you're doing for them?
05:06Yes.
05:07You get a lot of feedback from them?
05:08Yeah.
05:09What do they say?
05:10Whoop whoop.
05:11A wrestler like McFoley has sort of popularized this idea of like,
05:14take out a camera and hurt yourself, jackass, of course.
05:16Yes.
05:17But I can't say that's a way that I have ever used my acreage.
05:20No.
05:21To hurt myself intentionally?
05:22You know, hurting yourself intentionally is a young man's game.
05:25It definitely is.
05:26I've got this broken tailbone I always talk about.
05:28That was just from one small injury and it causes me physical pain for the rest of my life.
05:32For the rest of your life.
05:33Yeah.
05:34There's a point at which you just start accumulating those and they don't go away.
05:36Yes.
05:37Do you find that as you go about your day, as you get older you guard the body more?
05:41Yeah.
05:42I'm very, I'm like 70 year old man cautious.
05:44Really?
05:45My nephew wanted to have a jumping contest.
05:47Oh lord.
05:48And I was like, how long has it been since I've jumped?
05:50Right.
05:51You know?
05:52And I had a jumping contest with him because I will.
05:53Yes.
05:54Yes.
05:55For his sake.
05:56But I was just like, this is a sensation I have not experienced in a long time.
05:57I don't normally jump.
05:58I don't do jumping.
06:00Jumping is a nay nay thing.
06:01Yes.
06:02All right.
06:03I got cubes.
06:04Okay.
06:05You want to try a little of this cheese for you?
06:06Oh hell yeah.
06:07There's two types here.
06:08Smoked Gouda on top.
06:09Oh bro.
06:10Oh my God.
06:11What a good cheese.
06:12What kind of cheese is that?
06:13This is Market Basket Smoked Gouda.
06:14I've been saying for a while that that artisan crafted smoked Gouda from Walmart is our favorite
06:17Mac.
06:18Might just be a smoked Gouda.
06:19It's super good.
06:20And try a little, underneath there's a different cheese.
06:21There's a Cabot Sharp.
06:22You might actually be making a good Mac.
06:24I hope so.
06:25And see how easy it made it?
06:26It was so quick.
06:27Yeah.
06:28Normally that would require.
06:29It would require Nina working most of the episode.
06:30We've got our pasta here.
06:31A pound of De Sesso.
06:33I'm opening up my can of evaporated milk.
06:36Could you please add about three quarters of that cheese in?
06:38Sorry to use my bare hands everybody.
06:40Oh it's fine.
06:41But this is a family that's cooking right now.
06:42This is a family cooking.
06:43And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to add a big handful of this as well.
06:46Oh hell yeah.
06:47If we can't infuse smoke into it.
06:48Right.
06:49We can infuse that smoked flavor.
06:50We can fake it.
06:51But what I do have to do now is I got to get a burger and some dogs cooking for this Mac.
06:55Natural case Franks.
06:56These are one of my favorite Franks lately.
06:58Really?
06:59Soggy dogs.
07:00No Soggy.
07:01Soggy's kind of going down quality.
07:02Really?
07:03And then also from the Market Basket fresh foods area.
07:05Six ounce Angus patty.
07:07Can I just say Nina that you have a small collection of false graph here that I love.
07:11Yeah.
07:12Where did we get all these Nina?
07:13Like the amicable church fair?
07:15We're going, this is the first time ever making this.
07:16So it's a real by the seat of the past experience.
07:18This could turn into a winning recipe or it could be a complete and utter disaster.
07:21A mac and cheese of carnage.
07:22Do not drive this at home and I hope you like it.
07:26Whoop whoop.
07:27Wow.
07:28Cheeseburger and dogs in the Mac.
07:29Yup.
07:30Yeah we wait a little bit.
07:31Like five minutes.
07:32And if you close your eyes.
07:33Hail.
07:34Hail.
07:35Hail.
07:36This is Sweet Thread.
07:37A collection of videos where extremely famous humongous hit songs by bands were in their
07:42infancy and played to small rooms.
07:44Yes.
07:45I've seen that one played.
07:46It was incredible.
07:47Incredible.
07:48It was a great performance.
07:49But if you close your eyes.
07:50Hail.
07:51Hail.
07:52Hail.
07:53Hail.
07:54Hail.
07:55Hail.
07:56Hail.
07:57Hail.
07:58There's one of Smells Like Teen Spirit.
07:59Yup.
08:00And people aren't reacting because they've never heard the song before.
08:01Yeah.
08:02Never heard it.
08:03Sounds Like Teen Spirit.
08:08Dance Monkey.
08:09That's a new word.
08:10Yup.
08:11I think it's worth pondering.
08:12Nothing guarantees that any one of those songs become the transformative cultural hits
08:15that they are.
08:16Absolutely.
08:27Makes me wonder have I ever been to a live performance from an independent creator or a
08:31local musician where I was like wow this is really great.
08:34I don't think I ever have.
08:35Probably not.
08:36No.
08:37Frankie can I send you on a task because there's more things I forgot to get for tools.
08:39A spatula and maybe some tongs.
08:41Tongue tong tongs sucker.
08:42Tongue tong tongs.
08:43Spatula and a tong.
08:44Spatula and a tong.
08:45Spatula and a tong.
08:46Spatula and a tong.
08:47Spatula and a tong.
08:48Spatula and a tong.
08:49Spatula and a tong.
08:50I'm going to cut a little butter in the meanwhile Nina.
08:51Oh yeah cause we don't have enough butter b-roll.
08:52This is outdoor butter b-roll.
08:53It's a whole new category in the butter b-roll file.
08:56You're going to be a street vendor?
08:57You're going to be a street vendor?
08:58They had a street vendor.
08:59We were in New York City and she saw the locals doing their illegal street vending.
09:03Run away from the cops.
09:08Look at these dogs they're coming up beautiful.
09:10Want a little bit of char in them not too much.
09:12Whenever we have a summer cookout, summer party.
09:14Yep.
09:15John's the hot dog and cheeseburger guy.
09:17Look at those grill marks.
09:18Oh hell yeah.
09:19It is melting.
09:20It needs a stir.
09:21Summertime.
09:22Great song.
09:23It's summertime and the living's easy.
09:25Will Smith recently, who's like 57 years old, released some new rap.
09:29I love pretty girls.
09:31Pretty girls are hot.
09:32I love pretty girls.
09:34Girls, girls, girls.
09:35All the pretty girls put your drink up.
09:37I'll get you anything you think of.
09:39Think of.
09:40I'm like you're 57 years old.
09:41I mean, I guess he can still like pretty girls, but you know.
09:44I thought.
09:45Ain't too many women ain't pretty to me.
09:47Ain't too many women ain't pretty to me.
09:49Ain't too many women ain't pretty to me.
09:50Ain't too many women ain't pretty to me.
09:52Got those beautiful doggos here.
09:53Look at that.
09:54Nice.
09:55All combining together.
09:56To three, huh?
09:57Yeah, three dogs should be good.
09:59My parents loved to get out onto the deck to do grilled food.
10:02As a kid, I was kind of like, I think that the grilled char just makes it worse.
10:06But I like it now.
10:07I think it has to be in moderation.
10:09Because some people cook hot dogs on the grill to like, all black.
10:12What's up with that?
10:13Oh, look at that beautiful burger.
10:15She could go a little longer.
10:16Yeah.
10:17She could go a little longer, Nina.
10:18Look at that bubbling mac, Nina.
10:19I'm going to add in some mayonnaise.
10:21Not too much.
10:22Just a little bit.
10:23I'm going to add in some mustard.
10:25Look at that giant bulbous burger.
10:26That burger would be very inefficient for like actually eating.
10:29But if the whole point is to raise it for macaroni and cheese.
10:32Yes, exactly.
10:33Train it to be inside of a mac.
10:34Some black, fresh ground pepper.
10:36We used actually yellow mustard instead of like mustard powder.
10:39Yes.
10:40Look at that beautiful mac.
10:41This is just about done, Frankie.
10:42A little bit of paprika.
10:43We're going to let that burger rest for a minute.
10:44Could you cut up one more hot dog for me in the meantime?
10:46One more dog.
10:47The final element here.
10:48The rest of this cheese.
10:49It's going to go on top.
10:50Kind of add a nice cheesy crust.
10:53And then when do the chips come into play?
10:55The chips come during serving.
10:56Top five summer songs, go.
10:58Will Smith's Summertime.
10:59Summer of 69.
11:00Summer of 69.
11:01Hot Down Summer in the City.
11:03Do you know the name of it?
11:05Let's just go with Hot Town Summer.
11:06Summer in the City.
11:07Hot Town Summer in the City.
11:09Back of my neck getting dirt and gritty.
11:12Anything by the Beach Boys.
11:13Sure.
11:14Kokomo.
11:15Yeah, it's hot, hot, hot.
11:16Oh, that's a great one too.
11:17For really hot days.
11:18You can only save that one for them.
11:19See people rockin'.
11:20Hear people chest and feel it hot, hot, hot.
11:23What about Cheeseburger in Paradise?
11:25Great song.
11:26I don't know if I'd associate that with summer.
11:27Cheeseburger in paradise.
11:30Give along with that onion slice.
11:33Alright.
11:34Some people say I'm old and brave.
11:39But I know.
11:40Burr burr burr burr burr.
11:42It's my own damn fault.
11:44Burr burr burr burr burr.
11:46Some people Mackie.
11:48Burr burr burr burr burr.
11:50Junt with the hot dogs.
11:52Burr burr burr burr burr.
11:53Now notice that I'm not mixing them in.
11:55They're going on top.
11:56Cut that burger into nice bite sized pieces on your cutting board or wherever you want.
11:59I thought you were going to say on your day off.
12:01On your day off.
12:02Look at that nicely cooked burger.
12:03Look at that.
12:04That's a nice burger.
12:05I didn't want it too rare because we're going to be covering it in the Mac directly.
12:08Now you could have bought ground hamburger.
12:10I could have, but if I wanted to cook it on the grill it would be real tough to just cook
12:13random ground hamburger.
12:14True.
12:15You would have had to precook it then stick it on the grill.
12:17Yes.
12:18And I wanted the whole grill experience.
12:19When you go to a summer cookout, what chip do you hope they have?
12:23A chip in general.
12:24Any kind of chip.
12:25Yep.
12:26Oh, that's a really good question.
12:27Right.
12:28I'm probably going for Doritos to be totally real.
12:29Yeah.
12:30Nacho Doritos.
12:31All right.
12:32I'm ready to pull this Mac off.
12:33Oh, she looks good.
12:34Looks incredible.
12:35Distributed across.
12:36We've got our 4th of July paper bowls.
12:37I love them.
12:40Chips all over it.
12:41Yep.
12:42Little bit of chips.
12:44Just a little bit.
12:45I can't believe it.
12:46You can't believe it.
12:47And a little mustard too, Franken.
12:48Now you don't have to have yours this way.
12:49Yes, you do.
12:50Yes, you do.
12:51Just a little bit.
12:52It doesn't look like just a little bit.
12:53It was kind of a lot.
12:54Searching for my lost shaker of salt.
12:57Oh, there it is.
12:58I'm trying to mix it up so that I don't get too much of anything.
13:00Ready?
13:01Yep.
13:02Three, two, one.
13:03Happy 4th of July!
13:04Well, the cheeseburger motif is coming in strong.
13:07Mm-hmm.
13:08The mac is really good, the mac.
13:09Yeah.
13:10Try to eat just the mac if you can.
13:11Yeah.
13:12Oh boy.
13:13Dude, the smoked Gouda.
13:14Mm-hmm.
13:15The smoked Gouda.
13:17Thoughts?
13:18Prayers?
13:19Yeah.
13:20Heavy burger, heavy mustard.
13:21If you're actually going to make this at home,
13:22don't put the mustard and ketchup on at the end.
13:25I really liked the mustard and ketchup.
13:26It is kind of nice, actually.
13:27It is?
13:28Even the chip.
13:29I really like it.
13:30I really like it.
13:31It's a phenomenal macaroni and cheese,
13:32just the macaroni and cheese.
13:33But the rest of it tastes like the 4th of July.
13:36I think this is the best, like, holiday mac you've ever made,
13:39you know?
13:40Really?
13:41All of the Halloween stuff is all, you know,
13:42funny and cute and the pumpkin and stuff,
13:43but this tastes like the holiday.
13:45I actually think that you've invented something here
13:47that could be replicated by other crazy people.
13:50Yeah.
13:51Well, we'll have a recipe on the website, of course.
13:52Excellent idea.
13:53Happy 4th of July.
13:54Enjoy some fireworks.
13:55Happy 4th of July.
13:56Be our wingman anytime.
13:57In my Minecraft room, I built two palaces for you and we worship you as God.
14:03What?!
14:04John!
14:05John!
14:06John!
14:07I even built a statue with nether blocks and, um, diamonds for you.
14:11Your own statue.
14:12I can't wait to see it.
14:13Wow, did you build all this stuff?
14:15Every little last minute.
14:17Ready for your resurrecting spot?
14:19Yes.
14:20I said, I don't understand.
14:21Is John God in, like, he walks among you?
14:25Or is he more like God or Jesus where you never really see him?
14:28And she goes, it's more like that, and he's gonna resurrect someday.
14:31And I was like, oh, like Jesus, but you don't know when?
14:34And she goes, no, we know when.
14:36This weekend.
14:38That is hilarious.
14:40Walk on the red carpet.
14:42On the red carpet?
14:43Oh, down here?
14:44Yeah.
14:45Red carpet for John to come out.
14:47Your home.
14:48Can you believe how much she's built?
14:50It's incredible.
14:51You know, I build on a computer where I think it's a hundred times easier.
14:54You get to rather keep the children or make them work in the child labor building.
14:59I would not make any children work in the child labor building.
15:02But we already built the child labor building.
15:05That's okay.
15:06We can repurpose it to a different function so we don't have to have child labor.
15:09Are you ready?
15:15you get to today.
15:17GoοΏ½οΏ½ on.
15:18You know, what's safety?
15:19Oh, man.
15:20He really tried to TP.
15:21Whoa, man.

15:23See you alladiest!
15:24Cool.
15:25Yeah.
15:26установлСна minute behind him.
15:27It's crazy.
15:32A $5 while later.
15:33It's yeah.
15:34All right.
15:36Yeah.
15:37It's pretty much 20'0.
15:39It's pretty much 2x-100,
