We pitted McDonald's two newst burgers against one another to see which was better... it's the BBQ Ranch Stack vs McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse

00:00Hi my name's Jack Marshall I'm a digital food and drink reporter and welcome back

00:04to another one of our food reviews and today we're doing another McDonald's

00:08taste test now anyone who's kind of familiar with the McDonald's menu will

00:12know that it's pretty much always changing there's always new stuff out

00:15there's always limited edition burgers and shakes and God knows what sides

00:19mozzarella stick everything always coming out at all times so it's always

00:23nice to kind of get a taste test and update people on what these things

00:26actually kind of how they actually stack up against the the OG's like your Big

00:30Macs and your Quarter Pounders and all that kind of stuff where they're

00:32actually worth trying or whether if you have you are gonna treat yourself to a

00:36Mac is you're better just sticking with your usual order and sticking with the

00:39tried-and-tested OG's so I went out and I tried two of their newest burgers I

00:44tried the barbecue ranch stack and the McCrispy barbecue smokehouse now the

00:51ranch stack was beef and the McCrispy obviously with the chicken McCrispy

00:56that's the kind of theme with it was chicken but generally if you're looking

01:00at the ingredients on both of them they're pretty similar in terms of what

01:04they're kind of offering their barbecue eat this smoky they're meant to have

01:07that kind of vibe being you know me Texas barbecue outdoor stuff garlic

01:13sauces that kind of thing so this is how they kind of stacked up if you'll excuse

01:17the pun the barbecue ranch stack really nice smoky flavor I mean I am a fan of

01:24McDonald's burgers themselves I don't mind the actual taste the patties and

01:27that really came through that was really nice often with something like this

01:31where you've got a big barbecue flavor and it's all smoky and sugary with

01:35McDonald's with barbecue sauce it just gets completely overwhelmed but you did

01:38get a taste of meat with it which was nice that was that was like a nice touch

01:41didn't completely get overwhelmed by all the barbecue flavors I'd like bacon on

01:46it as well which again I was anticipating getting a bit lost but that

01:48came through so that was good it also had a nice amount of like salad on it it

01:53wasn't overwhelmed but it definitely was there which I'd like a nice cold

01:56crunch to it as well it's a nice change of texture and flavor and temperature

01:59which is always nice selling a burger yeah it was like it was like how I

02:04describe it it's like a classic Big Mac or a cheeseburger that classic burger

02:09taste of a Mackey's burger with a bit of a twist so yeah it was good I enjoyed it

02:13a lot I've got to say it's one of those burgers which I'll probably go back and

02:15have another bash out at some other time yeah I'd recommend it try it for

02:19yourself see what you think the McCrispy barbecue smokehouse this was

02:25all about how sweet it was I mean I'm assuming they're using the same and

02:29barbecue sauce but this was just I don't know what was different about it was

02:32just overwhelming everything about it was sweetness it was punching in the

02:35mouth with every bite every taste would was just sugar sweet smoke not even the

02:40smokiness of barbecue just sweetness of barbecue sauce it was a bit

02:43overwhelming really the chicken was nice it was good it was that kind of classic

02:47Mackey's chicken which again you know if you're a detractor you're never gonna

02:51like it but I quite like it it's fine that was nice the classic barbecue sauce

02:55was there but in terms of the meal itself it was much smaller than the

03:00ranch stack the barbecue ranch stack so little underwhelming on the size front

03:03given that they're similar ish ish prices and also cheese on there which

03:07just didn't really come through whatsoever I mean with Mackey's burgers

03:11and cheese you want that classic American almost plasticky looking cheese

03:14melted coming through lots of it it was just kind of there as an afterthought

03:18it didn't really have any any kind of bearing on the mealers as a whole I

03:22wouldn't have another barbecue McCrispy barbecue smokehouse if I'm honest I

03:28wouldn't go back to that one like I said before I definitely have another ranch

03:32stack to see you that kind of stacks up again excuse upon against the other the

03:36other you know may know geez but yeah the the smokehouse wasn't really for me

03:41not really my vibe if I'm honest but yeah you'll have to let us know in the

03:48you wish they'd you know be joined by on the rest of when you buy you know like

03:52the rest of the ogs if they join those and just become regular parts of your
