00:00The United States will halt some shipments of air defense missiles and other weapons
00:07promised to Ukraine, the White House has said. Certain munitions were previously promised to
00:13Ukraine under the Biden administration to support its defenses. However, the Trump
00:17administration revised some of its decision, citing a concern over its own stockpile levels.
00:24Washington has repeatedly pressed for allies to provide air defense systems to Ukraine and
00:29step in with more weapons supplies. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has been weighing
00:34out the option to send Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, but emphasize his country will not
00:39become a party to the war. The halt of some weapons could come as a serious blow to Kiev as Russia has
00:46been recently stepping up its aerial strikes. Nearly five and a half thousand drones were launched
00:54against Ukraine in June alone, a significant increase compared to previous months.
00:59The European Commission has confirmed that the EU aims to cut its carbon emissions by 90 percent
01:10by 2040 in its new proposal for a climate law. It would allow member states and industries
01:17more flexibility to reach this target, including the release of new carbon credits.
01:22It's a huge transition. Let's let's just realize that. And therefore it is of the most importance
01:30to be non-dogmatic about how to reach success. A lot has been said about the flexibilities
01:37and let me dive into that right away. We will allow for first a limited amount of high quality carbon
01:45carbon credits outside of the European Union. The Commission said the bloc is on its way
01:52to reach the planned 55 percent reduction for 2030. But environmentalists say the EU is not fully
02:01following the recommendations of its scientific advisory board with the new proposals.
02:08which European countries require military service for women? Following away from Northern Europe,
02:23Denmark is the latest country to introduce mixed gender military conscription. Both men and women are
02:29now required to take part in conscription day, also known as defense day. Their participation will be
02:35determined by a lottery system given that there aren't enough volunteers. The length of military
02:41service has also been extended from four to eleven months. According to a Danish researcher,
02:47the decision has been subject to debate.
02:50a large part of the population, and especially women, find this unfair reform, putting in front of
02:55other arguments in terms of the fact that it is only women who put in front of the children. But for a
03:08large part of the population, it is also important that women have access to military service
03:14to equality. In Europe, military service is compulsory for men in ten countries, including in Finland,
03:22Cyprus and Greece. The Norwegian Parliament voted to extend conscription to women in 2013. It was implemented in 2016. And in Sweden, military service has been mixed since 2017.
03:37Some have also expressed to be in favor of universal military service in Latvia and Lithuania.
04:06Women are already integrated into professional armies and represent around 10% of military personnel in Europe.
04:18Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian ordered the country to halt its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog following a parliamentary bill on Wednesday.
04:30Last week, Iran's parliament voted unanimously on a law which suspends Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
04:40This means the IAEA will no longer be able to verify and monitor Iran's nuclear program.
04:48This comes after Israeli and U.S. airstrikes hit its nuclear facilities, according to state media.
04:55It is unclear how and to what extent the bill will be implemented. Following the attacks, U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran's nuclear program had been obliterated.
05:07But nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi said Iran may be able to restart its uranium enrichment in a matter of months.
05:16On Sunday, Trump said that sanctions on Iran could be lifted if they agree to move forward in a peaceful manner.
05:23For its part, Iran has maintained its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
05:34U.S. President Donald Trump's new immigration center in Florida could receive its first detainees on Wednesday.
05:41This follows Trump's Tuesday visit of the facility, where he joked about detainees getting caught by snakes and alligators if they tried to escape.
05:52We're going to teach them how to run away from an alligator, OK, if they escape prison.
05:58How to run away. Don't run in a straight line. Run like this.
06:02And you know what? Your chances go up about one percent, OK? Not a good thing.
06:07Supporters have embraced the facility as an innovative and cost-effective way for the federal government to put in place Trump's mass deportation plan.
06:18Built in just eight days, the facility is nicknamed Alligator Alcatraz for its surrounding alligator-infested swamps.
06:27While Trump received his tour, protesters gathered outside and called it an inhumane makeshift prison camp.
06:35Meanwhile, Florida Republicans are fundraising with t-shirts and bear koozies with the detention center's name.
06:42To ease court backlogs, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis wants National Guard members deputized as immigration judges.
06:52The new center can currently house 3,000 people in dormitories, with a second one already underway, according to officials.
07:00Judge Arun Subramanian, who presides over Sean Diddy Combs' sex trafficking and racketeering case, has denied bail despite Wednesday's mixed verdict.
07:12Diddy's defense had earlier requested the hip-hop mogul be released on a $1 million bond while he awaits sentencing.
07:19The judge says Combs, for now, has not met the burden of showing by clear and convincing evidence a lack of danger to the public or community.
07:28The sentencing date has not yet been set, but Subramanian has called for a hearing on the 8th of July to discuss the process with the attorneys.
07:36He's also put forward October 3rd as a proposed date for the rapper's sentencing, but the defense has requested an expedited decision.
07:45On Wednesday, Diddy was acquitted of the most serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy which could have put him behind bars for decades to life.
07:54He was, however, convicted of the lesser prostitution-related offenses.
07:58Those charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years, but Diddy's lawyers believe he will likely only face around two years.
08:06Prosecutors, however, are pushing for at least four to five years as they cited Combs' violence, aggressive tendencies, abusive past, and other factors.
08:15The hip-hop star has been jailed since his arrest in September.
08:19His time spent in jail leading up to the ruling will be credited and deducted from his sentence.
08:45It is an historic day for us, because we were able to open the Archdiocesan Museum after many years.
09:06And we open up a very important building, an architectural building,
09:12a very important building of modernization,
09:14which was designed by the Constantino Decavalla after the catastrophic disasters of 1956.
09:19In the same time, in the museum, we installed the new, anonymous place,
09:24the most famous girl of the Tierra's, which we see behind me,
09:27one of the most important buildings of the ancient Greek plastic,
09:32of the ancient ancient times.
09:33The ancient museum.
09:44We have the same treasure, the same experience,
09:47but the area of the museum, its architecture, the setting, his architecture,
09:52the same meaning of the original building,
09:54the same building, the same building,
09:56the same village, the same wood,
09:58the same building,
09:59the same building,
10:01They were constructed differently.
10:31Well, I saw the first preview, I haven't seen it since actually, and it really worked very,
10:54very well. And I'm understanding now that the crowds coming to see it are, you know,
11:00really getting quite large. Within the theatre, it's really exciting because suddenly you see her
11:07with a genuine huge crowd, which you can't do on stage. I mean, I think there will be people who
11:13are disappointed that she hasn't sung it live in the theatre, but I think it's going to be greatly
11:18outweighed by the theatricality of using film in that way.
11:23When they sing songs of glory, it isn't just a battle, but for all of us!
