00:00Do you think President Trump should try to engage with Iran?
00:04Do you think the Trump administration will engage with Iran?
00:07I mean, there's talk about perhaps an Iranian delegation visiting the White House.
00:10Do you see that as likely?
00:12Well, I think there should be some preliminaries before that happens, to be sure.
00:15But no, I think there should be engagement with Iran.
00:18It would be wonderful, again, if the Iranian leadership could recognize how ruinous their
00:23policies have been for the people of Iran, 80% of whom presumably oppose what the regime
00:30has done and how it has gone about it.
00:33This is a country with extraordinary potential that has repeatedly failed to live up to that
00:38potential because they're too busy trying to cause mischief and problems and mayhem in
00:44other parts of the region.
00:46We should recognize, by the way, as well, that Israel has truly changed because of 10-7 in
00:51its strategic outlook.
00:52It will never again allow a threat to materialize, not just in neighboring countries, but also
00:58in the region if it has the capabilities that Iran has demonstrated.
01:03So I think absolutely they should sit down.
01:05They should absolutely give up their nuclear effort.
01:10If they want to do civilian nuclear power, we or others can provide the uranium to fuel that.
01:17But otherwise, they should have no nuclear enrichment.
01:19And the IAEA should have full rights to go anywhere at any time to verify that that establishment
01:27has been completely dismantled.
