With shops like River Island closing, what do you think our high streets will look like in five years?
Transcript
00:00I think the high street just, you know what, it's kind of a tough one because a lot of the high street shops and all are disappearing, but then again everybody's shopping online so it is, but I do like to see kind of the more little boutique, independent shops kind of doing well and staying about.
00:17I know what I wouldn't like it to look like, I wouldn't like it to look like Manchester.
00:21Yeah, derelict, empty, yeah, because you go like, I'm going on to Ormskirk now, I'm going to Ormskirk and there's nothing in Ormskirk, so we live in Skem, so we come here to get shops because we've got nothing in Skem.
00:35It's becoming a little bit more gentrified, there's tons of cafes and food places and stuff which I don't see as a bad thing for the high street, but at the same time I like, that's where I'm going now, I'm going to buy some clothes, so you know it's nice to have a bit of choice as well, but just with the way people are shopping online and stuff like that at the moment,
00:49I can kind of just see it, you know, why would you pay rent on a big building when people are just shopping online mostly and especially with all these far cheaper websites and that coming on, you know.
