With major shops like River Island closing branches, we ask people in Birmingham what they think the future of the high street looks like. Are we heading for more closures - or a new kind of shopping experience?

00:00Well, in five years, the way things are going, they're not going to meet much high street
00:07stores open if it keeps going like this. So I think the commercial, they need to be supported
00:13a lot more by the council. I think that's one of the supports.
00:18Probably a lot worse. Some of the streets there, some of the high streets, not just
00:24in Birmingham, around Birmingham, they're deteriorating. They're being replaced by very low sort of
00:35quality kind of type of shops, you know what I mean? So, which then people won't come into
00:41Birmingham and they'll, it will just be, become deliried. As far as I'm, you know, it's just
00:47getting worse. A lot of empty buildings and empty shops, more people buying online, which
00:54is sad really, isn't it?
