00:13It was a legacy or defining achievement his chief political rival left before stepping down from the presidency.

00:20One, his predecessor President Rodrigo Duterte, decided to keep which he intends to improve.

00:26Earlier today, the President stressed his wish to keep the program in place as mandated by the law,

00:33but wants a tweak to better serve a huge public school studentry and prep them for their entry to the working world

00:41with the appropriate skills they need for their chosen vocation or professional trade or for higher learning.

00:49The President made clear in a podcast last month his frustration with the gaps and pitfalls in the program,

00:56which lacked comprehensive preparation prior to its rollout in school year 2012 to 2013.

01:03He later instructed his Education Czar Secretary San Angada to strengthen the curriculum and fill in the gaps.

01:11And despite the major drawbacks such as a lack of classrooms, school facilities, shortfalls in funding,

01:18limited resources, limited resources, and competency in training and teaching,

01:21the President is hell-bent to improve and sustain the program.

01:26The financial strain alone on families trying to cope with day-to-day needs is the chief reason

01:32for reduced enrollment numbers since the debut of the program nearly 13 years ago.

01:39The new cast of the impeachment court to hear and preside over the trial of the sitting Vice President

01:48will take their oaths as jurors before the sitting or new Senate President no later than July 29.

01:56Impeachment Court Spokesperson Reggie Tungwal in a presser earlier today stressed that

02:02oath-taking of the new senator judges of the 20th Congress can only proceed with the presence of presiding officer,

02:10the Senate President in this case of the impeachment court who gets to be elected

02:15only after Congress' ceremonial opening on July 28 or Sona Day.

02:21So it's either incumbent Senate President Francis Escudero or someone else,

02:27Senator Tito Soto or Senator Aini Marcos perhaps,

02:31who will be administering the oath of the impeachment court on July 28 or the day after.

02:37The new jurors of the impeachment court of the 20th Congress are Senators Erwin Tulfo,

02:43Rodante Marcoleta, Camille Villar, Pan-Poloping Lacson, Vicente Tito Soto, Francis Pangilinan, and Bam Aquino.
