Transcript
00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Lancaster Free Press and it's Wednesday, July, the second rather fresh one today, thankfully.
00:07Just bringing you some of our top headlines today.
00:09First of all, we've got some good news from the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
00:13They announced yesterday that they were celebrating the birth of a galada monkey.
00:18The arrival of the tiny primate follows a recent birth of its brother in March this year
00:25and it's a significant milestone for the breeding programme of that particular primate.
00:34The newborn has been well looked after by its mum, Sabenger, and dad, Taylor,
00:39and he's currently being carried about by his mum while he gets a little bit bigger.
00:43So you can read about that story. I'll be putting that out this morning along with a video, which is really lovely.
00:49Then one that's going to annoy motorists in the city, I would imagine,
00:55drivers in Doncaster have been warned of the partial closure of a major Doncaster road for three months
01:00while work takes place to install a cycle lane.
01:03Bambi Dunn Road near to Clear Lane will be impacted by the works.
01:07The current council chiefs have announced details of all that,
01:11which roads are going to be involved, all on the website already this morning for you.
01:15And then finally, police sent out an appeal yesterday following a reported sexual assault on a girl aged 16.
01:24There's a CCTV image of a gentleman that police would like to speak to following the alleged sexual assaults,
01:31which took place on a bus between Rotherham Interchange, travelling towards Doncaster.
01:37Like I said, there is an image there. Check it out.
01:39If you do recognise the man, please get in touch with the police.
01:41So for all those three stories, please visit www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
01:47and of course Facebook and X.
01:49And I hope you have a great Wednesday.
