Doncaster Free Press Daily Bulletin with Stephanie Bateman - Wednesday June 4, 2025
Transcript
00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Wednesday, June the 4th.
00:03Just bringing you our top headlines this morning.
00:05First of all, we've got a couple of planning pieces that are doing really well on the website.
00:10Planning always is well received by you all.
00:14Councillors on the Council Planning Committee have voted to defer planning permission for 150 house developments.
00:23The planning application would have seen the development built off Hatfield Lane in Barnby done.
00:28All the details about those plans are on the website this morning.
00:34Then a further housing development, 53 brand new affordable homes to be built in Doncaster after they were given permission by the Council.
00:438 out of 10 of the Planning Committee voted to grant permission in a decision which was branded as disgusting by residents.
00:52And then finally, a nice one, a former colleague of myself, Steve Hossack, a sports journalist, has paid a tribute to the men and women who helped liberate Europe and defeat Nazi Germany by writing and recording a song based on the events of D-Day in June 1944.
01:12The information is all there for you, a bit of background about Steve and the reasoning for it and also the lyrics of the song if you'd want to take a look at that.
01:24So for those three stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster, just visit www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
01:31And obviously you can take a look at Facebook and X and have a really nice Wednesday.
