00:00from Louisiana. Mr. President, I call up my amendment 2723 and ask that it be reported by
00:09number. Clerk will report. Senator from Louisiana, Mr. Kennedy proposes an amendment number 2723
00:17to amendment number 2360. Mr. President, as you know, when we passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
00:262017, we capped state and local taxes at $10,000. I liked it then. I like it now. The bill before
00:37us dramatically raises that cap. I think it's a mistake. I think it's bad policy. But I realize
00:49that my instincts are not infallible. Some people don't realize that. But mine aren't.
01:05And for that reason, I respect this entire body. And I respect everybody in it. And
01:16I don't think my intellect is superior. And I don't think my instincts are infallible. For
01:26that reason, I ask to withdraw my amendment, whatever the hell the number was.
01:37The senator has that right. Clerk will call the roll.
