Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) ripped into Senate Republicans and the Big Beautiful Bill after it passed the Senate 51-50 with Vice President JD Vance casting the deciding vote.
Transcript
00:00Leaving the Senate now, at the end of the vote, when the Republicans won,
00:05they cheered.
00:07They cheered over taking away health care from around 17 million people.
00:13They cheered over giving huge tax breaks to a handful of billionaires.
00:19They cheered over running up the national debt by another $3.5 trillion.
00:25You know, this bill, it's bad.
00:28It's bad economically.
00:30It's bad morally.
00:32This bill is just wrong.
00:34But we stay in the fight.
00:36We stay in the fight.
00:37We stay in the fight.
00:39And we proved why we stay in the fight.
00:41Because actually, there are pieces of this bill that we got better.
00:44We got the tax on solar and wind knocked out.
00:47And that's going to help with clean energy.
00:50We got a few different pieces and made them better.
00:53So that's reason number one is always the reminder.
00:56All of those calls matter.
00:58Reason number two is it's still not over.
01:01The bill has now got to go back over to the House.
01:04And there are a lot of Republicans who are feeling really squeamish about this bill at this point.
01:10So that means we got to stay in the fight.
01:14And reason number three is, yeah, they may do this now.
01:18But come November 2026, they're going to have to face the voters.
01:23They're going to have to face the people, the families of the people whose healthcare they took away.
01:28And they're going to have to explain exactly what they just did just now on the floor of
01:33the United States Senate and whatever they do next.
01:35So this is hard.
01:39But damn, we stay in the fight.
01:42We stay in it.
01:43Not because it's an easy fight.
01:45Not because we're guaranteed to win every time.
01:47We stay in it.
01:48Because it's the right fight.
