00:00On June 29, a devotee named Saras Chandra K alleged that he had found a cockroach in the Luddhu Prasadam.
00:08He reportedly confronted the Prasadam sales staff and even raised the issue with the temple's executive officer M. Srinivas Rao.
00:14After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the temple authorities issued a strong denial.
00:20They claimed there was no chance of contamination in the Prasadam.
00:23They also released a statement explaining that all Prasadams were prepared as per temple traditions with utmost cleanliness.
00:30Quality ingredients were used and the entire process was constantly monitored.
00:34Officials detailed the process.
00:36Bhoondi was fried in hot ghee, then mixed with sugar syrup, dried under special fans and shaped into laddus, all by workers wearing gloves and headcaps.
00:44They added that such rumours heard the sentiments of devotees and tarnished the reputation of Sri Sailam Kshetra.
00:49But this wasn't the first time a major temple found itself at the centre of such controversy.
00:54Back in 2024, a devotee had claimed that insects were found in the Prasad served at the Tirumala temple in Anthra Pradesh.
01:00However, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the trust that manages the temple, had dismissed those claims.
