Palace backs transparent budget deliberations

Malacañang on July 1, 2025 expressed support to institutionalize a transparent budget process. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro issued the statement after Speaker Martin Romualdez and other lawmakers backed calls for an open bicameral conference committee to ensure that the public would be privy to the discussions. This comes two months ahead of the deliberations on the 2026 national budget pegged at P6.793 trillion—the highest ever to be approved by Congress.
