00:00Manchester United will consider a move for Oli Watkins in the summer transfer window as Ruben Amarim looks to add a striker to his squad in the summer window.
00:11United, of course, are confident of completing a move for Brentford ace Brian Mbwemo.
00:16They hope to have him at the club for the first stages of their pre-season schedule.
00:21United players due back at Carrington from next Monday, the 7th of July.
00:26They then face Leeds in Stockholm on the 19th of July before they fly to the US for the Premier League Summer Series.
00:33United's plan is to have Mbwemo alongside Mateus Cunha for those early pre-season matches.
00:39And Ruben Amarim still wants to add a striker to his squad as well.
00:43The issue there is that they will rely on player sales.
00:47It is well documented that Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnaccio, Jadon Sancho and Anthony are all available for transfer.
00:55But so far, none of them are attracting interest over a potential permanent move.
00:59It's all sort of been loan inquiries at this early stage of the summer.
01:04So Mbwemo and Cunha are expected to arrive from that initial transfer budget that United had.
01:10But any move for a striker will rely on those player sales.
01:13Victor Jokre is still the dream addition for Ruben Amarim, but he's believed to prefer a move to Arsenal.
01:20Victor Ozyman, his wages are believed to be too high.
01:23And Hugo Eketike, 100 million euro price tag at Eintracht Frankfurt.
01:29That is just not going to appeal to United.
01:31He, at the moment in time, is just priced out of the summer move.
01:35It means United are exploring more affordable options.
01:38Oli Watkins could be one of them.
01:40A player who, once again, is Premier League proven, would bring an immediate improvement to United's options in attack.
01:47And wouldn't stunt the development of teenage forward Chido Obi either.
01:52Oli Watkins was valued at £60 million by Aston Villa when Arsenal inquired for him in the January window.
01:58It might take a similar fee if United were to get him as well.
02:01So, player sales will dictate who United can afford in attack.
02:05They are confident of completing a move for Brian Mbwemo.
02:09And Oli Watkins is the latest option being considered in attack.
02:12But at this moment in time, it's hard to say that there's any player who's the most likely to arrive at Old Trafford.
02:19There's also, of course, the possibility that if United don't get player sales, that they might not even sign a striker at all.
02:24They still want to.
02:26And it must be said that I think having Cunha and Mbwemo in the squad will significantly improve United's attacking output anyway.
02:33But they want to add a more proven goal scorer to the forward line.
02:37United, of course, looked at Oli Watkins two years ago and chose to sign Rasmus Hoyland instead.
02:42Two years later, they could be back at square one.
