Manchester United have submitted an improved bid for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo as they look to seal their second signing of the summer transfer window.
It is understood United have made an offer in excess of £60 million after they saw an initial bid worth up to £55 million rejected by the London club earlier in the month. United's first offer for Mbeumo was worth an upfront fee of £45 million plus a further £10 million in add-ons, with the new offer also believed to involve a larger upfront fee.
Brentford value Mbeumo at roughly £65 million and could be willing to compromise on the final price now that the improve offer is closer to the figure they wanted. The two clubs have been in negotiations over a deal for many weeks, before they stepped up again over the weekend. Mbeumo has already indicated he would like to move to Old Trafford this summer, with United the favourites to sign him despite continued interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
