00:00It's incredible to me when my rap verse came out,
00:05the Yeti On Yo Titties freestyle on the internet,
00:09and people were like, wait, I didn't know Lythical Rap.
00:12And it was like, y'all ain't know Lythical Rap?
00:14It was like those conversations.
00:15And it kind of put me back into the conversation.
00:18Lil Wayne was the person that kept saying like,
00:21you know, I want to be like Wayne.
00:23I want to be like Mixtape Wayne when I do this.
00:25My face hurts from smiling.
00:30Mad, trash, grouch.
00:37I don't need drama.
00:38I'm putting the albums out.
00:40So this is different for me.
00:42Like usually I'm in the studio for like two years.
00:45And then my music is turned in like months in advance.
00:48And then I'm like doing a slow like promo rollout.
00:53This time I was like, I did everything in a week.
00:56And I just like approved the master like 20 minutes ago.
01:00And now I'm dropping it on Friday.
01:02What can't I say?
01:03Take off the foo-foo.
01:04How you talking about me?
01:05Can't even outdress my little boo-boo.
01:07Nana boo-boo.
01:08I go cuckoo.
01:09I used to enjoy like just sitting and writing down my verse
01:14and then everybody coming together and being like,
01:16all right, who got the craziest verse?
01:18You know what I mean?
01:19And like feeding off of that energy.
01:20But I think like one of the most important elements is like
01:23my best friend Lexo who was in Cornwall Click is,
01:26you know, her voice is on this project.
01:29I flew her in from Houston when I was like,
01:32like day three when I was working on everything.
01:34I already had like 11 songs.
01:35I was like, I flew her in and I was like,
01:37hey, I need you to give me ad-libs.
01:39I need your voice on this track.
01:41Like, so you can hear her being like, we outside ho.
01:44We outside.
01:51It's the same me.
01:52Yeah.
01:53You know, like for instance, about damn time in a minute,
01:56I'm gonna need a sentimental metal woman.
01:59That's like a freestyle that I did in the booth.
02:02And I think like, that's how I start with everything.
02:05It's like a freestyle and it's typically kind of rapid-y.
02:09And then I add melody.
02:10And then I go in and adjust the lyrics and be like,
02:13okay, can I say this?
02:14You know, can you say this in pop music?
02:16And I think that was the biggest thing.
02:18Like with this project, I'm like, man,
02:21the first thing that come out my mouth, I'm gonna say it.
02:24I'm not gonna edit myself.
02:30I always have a little bit of Missy Elliott in me.
02:32Like at all times.
02:33Like, she's just a part of me.
02:36You know what I mean?
02:37So I definitely tapped in to Missy.
02:40One of the best rappers of all time.
02:42One of the best producers of all time.
02:44One of the best songwriters of all time.
02:46And live performers.
02:48I was constantly inspired and in awe of all of the women doing their thing.
02:54Like, I mean, I shout them all out on the mixtape too.
02:58Like on Got Your Bitch.
03:00That was me paying homage to like all of the women who are killing it right now.
03:05The beauty of what you don't see on camera, that you don't see it on camera.
03:16I think there's a lot of like, um, like genuine support.
03:20And, um, she's like one of the only people I can text at like three in the morning when I'm crashing out.
03:27We love a good 3am crash out. I've been there.
03:30Oh my God.
03:31And she'll just get this one like dark ass text.
03:33And she's like, oh my gosh, are you okay?
03:37But, um, I really appreciate her cause she just, she, she understands.
03:42And I think it's really hard for, for you to have someone in your life who actually fucks with you.
03:48Who's known you for a long time.
03:49Who also understands the world you're in.
03:51What I learned from this mixtape, what I learned from my face hurts from smiling, I'm going to put into Love & Real Life.
04:05And what I learned from this is trust your vision.
04:08Trust your instinct, your first instinct.
04:11Your first instinct is always right.
04:13And double down in whatever it is you like.
04:16Like nerd out on it.
