00:00The Good Fierce Witch is here with you to make everyone pretty.
00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best makeovers that ever came out of America's Next Top Model.
00:11The color is really gonna make me go pow.
00:17Number 20, Jada Young, Cycle 7.
00:20One thing that you said is, I'm the prettiest girl in school, you know, everybody says how pretty I am.
00:24But actually in this competition, you're actually the most handsome.
00:28Now that might sound like an insult, but what we're saying is it's kind of a boyish quality to your face, and that photograph's really strong.
00:35It's strange that one of the best makeovers on the show happened to one of the most controversial contestants.
00:41Jada Young endeared herself to few people when her insecurities led to an epic breakdown during her haircut.
00:48I just feel so masculine. I feel like I lost my, like, girlish thing going on.
00:53Poor Mr. J was beside himself, and Young even won an award for biggest makeover meltdown at the Fierce Awards.
01:01But facts are facts, and Young's Halle Berry inspired pixie cut gives her a bold dramatic flair that is absolutely winning.
01:09Unfortunately, Young was eliminated by episode 9, but at least she went out in style.
01:15Being insecure with my hair and all that, it definitely took me a longer time than the other girls to, like, develop all those, like, characteristics that you need to be in this competition.
01:24But it's gonna work out, you know, things are gonna work out.
01:27Number 19, Alaysia Ballard, Cycle 14.
01:31Speaking of divas, Ballard was also a participant in some major drama among the contestants, including getting into a screaming match early on.
01:40Things got tense when in episode 3, Ballard was called out for wearing a swimsuit.
01:45If you went to a go-see or casting dress like this...
01:48I would say, how did she get in here? Like, how did you find out about this?
01:52But one thing that she had going for her was a strong impression.
01:55Ballard's initial look with her sweet, conventional straight hair gave way to a big volume mane that better expressed her bold personality.
02:04She pulled that wig off at casting, and we were like, oh my god, all this hair?
02:08So we're just gonna give her some body and some curl and give her some clip-ins that she can clip in and out at photo shoots.
02:13Look at this volume.
02:15Catch the brows.
02:17Can I touch it?
02:18Yeah.
02:19I am absolutely in love with it.
02:21I love, like, how it's so bouncy and sophisticated, you know?
02:25It's a dramatic departure from her clean-cut look that works especially well.
02:29She was the first eliminated in New Zealand, unfortunately, but her look is something we won't forget in a hurry.
02:36I'm an amateur, you know what I mean? I'm an amateur.
02:38Like, I did not know anything about the fashion industry, and I made it this far.
02:42You know, so I'm happy with myself.
02:43Number 18, Brittany Markert, Cycle 13.
02:48Speaking of transformational makeovers, this math whiz proved that sometimes a change in hair color is what's needed.
02:55We're going to edge you out and make your hair darker.
03:01Don't be scared, girl. Don't be scared.
03:03Margaret's stunning, romantic blonde hair was turned into a deep brown, complemented by a golden two-piece suit.
03:10She later gave an impressive performance at the scarf photo shoot, which allowed her to win Immunity, the first ever for a contestant.
03:18You really worked it. I was so impressed with you. And you can gloat and look at your gorgeous picture.
03:24Thank you so much.
03:25You're still in the running towards becoming America's next top model.
03:29Other highlights include her first call out for the Cirque du Soleil photo shoot, along with Ray Weiss and Jennifer Ann.
03:35Margaret's streak was nothing less than impressive, and after the show went on to sign up with a modeling agency in San Francisco before becoming a photographer herself.
03:45Millions of people all over the world suddenly had this idea of me and I felt like my name was taken away from me and my identity was taken away from me.
03:56So in a way, my photography was a way for me to fight back and want to be seen for who I actually was.
04:05Number 17, Jenna Doucette, Cycle 9.
04:09You wouldn't believe this bookish bronze brunette who claimed she got along better with boys would ever go blonde.
04:15But Tyra Banks' vision reaps good fruit.
04:18Your eyes really pop out.
04:20Going through your film, you took risks and you took chances.
04:23When you're going to be signed, because I know you're going to be signed, I'm going to use you.
04:27Ooh, ciao.
04:29Doucette's photo modeling was continually impressive, and her makeover look wowed the judges, including Tyra Banks herself.
04:37Her makeover, going from page boy bronze to platinum blonde, is absolutely winning, complimenting the model's strong features.
04:45Doucette is no sweet brunette.
04:47I feel like since I look so different that I should be different.
04:50I feel like I should just kick all of your asses.
04:52Unfortunately, both Salisha Stowers and Chantal Jones attacked her for her personality, causing her to break down and get eliminated.
05:00But her makeover was still among the strongest.
05:03I felt really different while I was here, and I think that there was a lot of pressure, and I think there was a lot of me that didn't come out.
05:10That was because I was scared and because this is hard.
05:15Number 16, Molly Sue Stinas, Cycle 6.
05:19I'm really excited about my new look.
05:21I think it's going to work really, really well.
05:23Everything is going to a very updated version of mod.
05:26Yeah.
05:27Do you think you could do that?
05:28I could do that.
05:29The next-turned model gave a strong turn with this metamorphosis.
05:32It's a simple trim, to be sure, from her original swept bob.
05:36But Banks' ambition of giving a model the Mia Farrow treatment in Cycle 5 was finally realized.
05:42You are like my fantasy girl right now with this short hair.
05:45Molly Sue's more severe cut complements her jawline and slender body.
05:50In the end, though, the judges thought her too stiff for a commercial and sent her home in Episode 6.
05:56But her post-show life has been more successful, as she has signed up with top modeling agencies, as well as being in magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan.
06:06Now that's talent.
06:08I had to get out of my head.
06:10And I've always struggled there a little bit, but I got much better.
06:22This Walgreens clerk turned supermodel got a rough start on the show, but her makeover was definitely a winner.
06:29Her promo shows her stick thin with long mousy hair.
06:32My name is Shandy.
06:34I work at a Walgreens.
06:35I'm a service clerk.
06:37I was never told that I was pretty or anything.
06:39I was, like, this little mousy, nerdy girl.
06:41It's just been, like, over the past couple years that I've been, like, trying to wear, like, curly things.
06:46So her makeover into a stylish blonde who modeled as a Nicole Kidman look-alike is nothing less than extraordinary.
06:52Shandy, you look beautiful.
06:54Absolutely gorgeous.
06:56This ugly duckling transformation was the first in the show, receiving two challenge wins and getting her first call-out for the Heights photo shoot.
07:05Perhaps the transformation was too successful, however, for she caused drama when she cheated on her boyfriend with a male model in Italy.
07:12Still, she was awarded the biggest change award by Tyra Banks for her transformation.
07:21Number 14.
07:22Amanda Swafford, Cycle 3
07:24Swafford's striking blue eyes already make her one of the most stunning models on the show.
07:29Her makeover, however, made her look like an elf straight out of Lord of the Rings.
07:34Amanda stood in front of us, and she doesn't change her expression.
07:37I was like, okay, transformation inside and out. She's a diva now.
07:42As soon as I saw myself in the mirror, I just felt sexier and more powerful.
07:48Both her early photos and her ethereal new look impressed the judges.
07:53She made it all the way to the top three, but was eliminated in favor of Eva Pigford, the eventual winner of Cycle 3.
08:00I want to inspire people that have disabilities or, you know, shortcomings to just, like, work through it and to find joy in everything.
08:12Sadly, Swafford suffered from a degenerative eye condition, making her legally blind, but her look is by no means forgettable.
08:21And she has had success after the show, modeling in Prague and Moscow. We love to see it!
08:27Also, f*** Nigel Barker for saying that, like, no agency is going to, like, sign her for being blind.
08:33He's pissed about that.
08:35Number 13, Ioana House, Cycle 2.
08:39This Cycle 2 contestant won for good reason.
08:42You started off as the quirky, kinda weird girl.
08:47And you have transformed into this hip, stylish, gorgeous being.
08:54House's initial photos have her with shoulder-length wavy black hair.
08:59Her makeover is a remarkable transformation into an Audrey Hepburn-esque wave.
09:04She's one of my favorite movie stars of all time.
09:07That looks great. Good.
09:08While she won the Episode 3 challenge, she also suffered a fall during the music video shoot, which almost caused her to be eliminated.
09:16She also had major beef with Camille McDonald, although they briefly became friends in Episode 8.
09:22I just really think that a lot of times Camille is a very lonely girl.
09:25I think she wants to have friends, but I think she puts a front that she's tough.
09:29Drama aside, House's strong portfolio nabbed her the ANTM crown, also making her one of the oldest winners on the show.
09:36Afterward, she became the face of the CW Network in 2006.
09:42That picture speaks a thousand words. This girl is giving you face.
09:46She can have a helmet on her head and look amazing. She's just an incredible beauty.
09:51Number 12. Felicia Provost, Cycle 8
09:55This Tyra Banks look-alike began well as a beautiful ginger with great presence and, of course, poses.
10:02Her second look, though, is even more striking, converting her into a sultry brunette.
10:07Tyra assigned me bangs and a darker color. I think this is perfect.
10:13Unfortunately, early on in Episode 4, she was eliminated in favor of Dionne Walters.
10:19Fans were left scratching their heads over the decision, especially since the judges loved her photos apart from her fashion victim one.
10:27First photo shoot strong. Second photo shoot strong. And then the third one was okay.
10:33And then the fourth one was the weakest picture in the bunch.
10:39And the judges start saying, is she falling apart? Can she handle the competition?
10:45Still, it's an inspired makeover, proving that bangs on the right person can really complete their look.
10:51Provost went on to sign on to the elite model management in Chicago, although she is now retired in Hong Kong.
10:57I am definitely going to keep modeling. That's just something I have to keep doing, no matter what happened here.
11:05Nothing at all is going to keep me from following my dream.
11:08Number 11, Alison Harvard, Cycle 12
11:11People always comment on your eyes.
11:13Either they say I look like a scary doll or like a porcelain doll.
11:16You say the bride of Chucky. Yeah.
11:18Creepy Chan is far from creepy. Although given the moniker by 4chan users, Harvard quickly became a fan favorite.
11:26She entered the competition blending in with a flat brown lob.
11:30So it was great to see her transformed with new platinum blonde waves that lit up her face and emphasized her big blue eyes.
11:37Oh my God.
11:38I feel like a mermaid.
11:40Mermaids? Yeah.
11:41Okay, it's America's Next Top Mermaid.
11:43I've always wanted long hair. It's fantastic. I love it.
11:47Harvard had a strong run across the season, especially in its later episodes.
11:52Sadly though, the judges felt she lacked variety in her facial expressions, and she ultimately came in seconds behind Tiana Anderson.
12:00Harvard did return to the show in Cycle 17, which pleased her fans.
12:05In Crete, there she was, you know, just this extraordinary photograph of her.
12:08Shot by Nigel.
12:09I was on the set of the music video that Game was directing. He fell in love with her.
12:14Those eyes, oh my goodness, just stunning. So unique. It's almost Alice in Wonderland.
12:20Number 10, Joni Dodds, Cycle 6.
12:23This finalist's makeover was a study in the art of subtlety.
12:27We're gonna do a little bit more blonde on you and make you a little bit more icy.
12:31The color and extra volume complimented Dodds' strong jawline, and when combined with her natural talent in front of the camera, the end result packed quite a punch.
12:41I think it looks very high fashion. Your shoulders are wonderful.
12:45The judges praised her photos, and Banks even commented that Dodds could not take a bad picture.
12:51They took issue with her personal presence, though, especially compared to her competitors.
12:56In the end, Dodds was runner-up to Danielle Evans.
13:00Dodds went on to model for GQ among other magazines, so it's no great loss.
13:05I would've been so happy if it was me, but I'm okay.
13:10Number 9, Whitney Thompson, Cycle 10.
13:14This finalist became the winner of her cycle for very good reason.
13:18For one thing, her makeover was sensational.
13:21Sexy, curvy girl makes sexy, curvy, long, thick hair.
13:25So Whitney, you're getting a wheeze.
13:27Beginning with thick dark hair and a 2000s high-waisted top, Thompson became a glamorous blonde with a bold presence.
13:35Despite a rough start, with the judges deeming her too fake, Thompson soon proved herself by winning three challenges
13:42and receiving her first call-out during the music-themed photoshoot.
13:46Mr. J said that you came to the set and knocked it out of the box, and you really embraced the genre and took risks that worked, and this is a risk.
13:53Thompson also got recognition for being the only plus-sized model to win the competition.
13:58The modeling industry may be cruel to plus-sized models, but occasionally justice is served.
14:04I honestly think the girls will look up to me and say, I could do that, you know, I could be that.
14:10I don't have to, you know, starve, I don't have to have plastic surgery.
14:14I could really be like that, I could be on that billboard, I could be on that magazine cover.
14:18Why? Because I'm beautiful.
14:19Number 8, Corinne Wytel, Cycle 5.
14:22Competing at just 19 years old, this contestant had a rough home life.
14:27But talent is talent, and Wytel's transformation on the show is remarkable.
14:32When you feel strong, you don't hold anything back.
14:35What's my secret? I'm afraid of heights.
14:37Praise the Lord, Jesus! I believe the last one, you are so lucky.
14:41She began as a flat-haired dark brunette with a breezy look.
14:45Her makeover lengthened her hair and gave it more volume.
14:48And of course, in typical Banks style, Wytel got blonde hair, which complemented her skin tone.
14:54I never would have thought blonde at all, but overall, I like my makeover.
14:59The brighter tone definitely helped her stand out.
15:05Unfortunately, her pictures didn't match the new vibe, and Wytel was eliminated in episode 6,
15:11with judges deeming her performance too gloomy.
15:14Her rivalry with Lisa Diomato didn't help matters either.
15:17But when she served, she served.
15:28This golden girl deserved better.
15:30Not for her clashes and endless drama with the other contestants, of course.
15:34But Golden did luck out in one key way.
15:37Her makeover was a success with fans, going from cherry red hair to a buzz cut
15:42that gave her features unexpected softness and dimension.
15:46However, with the shaved head, she's one of the strongest-looking girls in a bunch.
15:50Thank God her makeover went wrong.
15:51That was the best thing that could have happened to her, because she's stunning.
15:55And to think she was initially going to receive blonde extensions.
15:58Golden's hair was already too damaged, however, which landed her with this cut.
16:03Although she received several call-outs, she was eventually eliminated in the penultimate episode.
16:09Still, Golden returned for The Tyra Banks Show, and even modeled for Chris March on Project Runway.
16:15Yes, I did Fashion Week, and I'm getting back into it. My agency has been, like, so supportive.
16:19Number 6, Samantha Potter, Cycle 11.
16:23A volleyball and soccer blonde, Potter began the cycle strong, receiving her first call-out for her natural disasters shot and winning two challenges.
16:32No doubt her makeover played some part in her performance.
16:35Samantha, looks like any girl walking in a mall with plastic earrings on.
16:40We've got to make her more high fashion. Elevate. Elevate, darling, with short hair.
16:46Her promo photos show her as a striking but typical long-haired blonde with a svelte body.
16:51Simply cutting her hair short, however, utterly transformed her look for good.
16:56Oh, my God!
16:58I know that I look really, really fierce. I don't feel like girly girl Sam. I feel like a model.
17:06The modish pixie cut accentuated her features and gave them a unique cast that is no less than memorable.
17:14It's a remarkable transformation. Sure enough, Potter lasted all the way up until the finale, in which she lost to McKay Sullivan.
17:22This whole competition has truly brought out a different side of me. To tell you the truth, you know, I never saw myself as being, like, a pretty girl. I don't ever see myself as a pretty girl. No, I do.
17:38Number 5. Narelle Van Herc, Cycle 3.
17:41You feel like working it, don't you? They're lovely, your teeth.
17:45Today you look like a model.
17:46Narelle, I think your makeup is fabulous.
17:49Van Herc made it work.
17:51This contestant began with long, dark hair and braces. Her dramatic makeover removed the wires, deepened her hair color, and crafted into a shaggy bob, bringing out her brilliant green eyes and delicate features. What a success!
18:05I feel better now about the competition, about, like, how I look.
18:08Hooray!
18:10Wow, look how pretty!
18:12Don't I look so much better?
18:13Van Herc also won the first challenge of her makeover episode.
18:17Unfortunately, the judges were not as impressed with her photos across the season.
18:22The secretary look is not working for me.
18:24No, not at all.
18:25That works.
18:26Gorgeous!
18:27That works.
18:28It's almost as if you have to be dressed up in costume to become fierce.
18:31Between an inconsistent portfolio and Van Herc's struggle navigating Japanese culture, she would get the axe in episode 11.
18:39Still, she went on to become a successful model in Japan and even signed on to two modeling companies.
18:45You go, girl!
18:46I'm not giving up.
18:47Like, I'm not doing this and I'm not crying because, like, I'm sad or anything.
18:51Like, I will be a model.
18:52I will be America's next top model.
18:54Shh!
18:55I'm okay.
18:564.
18:57Kayla Farrell, Cycle 15
18:59One of the few openly LGBTQ plus models, Farrell's start on Cycle 15 was a little uneven, placing 12th and 2nd in the first two photoshoots respectively.
19:10She entered the competition with a pile of icy blonde curls that the judges couldn't quite see past.
19:16I can't see past it.
19:17I'm gonna send you out.
19:18I want you to wet your hair and comb it out.
19:19Oh, thank you.
19:20Go on.
19:21You'll come back.
19:22Though a straightened look was an instant improvement, her makeover guaranteed she would turn heads going forward.
19:29Farrell would receive bangs in a shorter length, as well as a new flaming red color that suited her beautifully.
19:35Despite some striking pictures, she was eliminated in episode 11, as the judges thought she had not mastered her facial angles quite yet.
19:44But she returned to All Stars for Cycle 17 and even did a stint of modeling in Japan before retiring.
19:51Her ANTM makeover in this cycle is still fascinating.
19:55This is what's gonna take you to the next level.
19:57I don't understand why people cry.
19:58I don't understand why people get upset.
20:00Oh, yes.
20:01I like already.
20:02Number three, Brittany Klein, Cycle 16.
20:06From the very beginning, this Pennsylvanian model shone with her photos impressing the judges.
20:12If Klein's first look was sleek and smoky, her makeover look gave her a Cleopatra-style look that was absolutely winning.
20:19Yes, working the angle of that hair all the time.
20:22Gorgeous.
20:23Like, I definitely don't feel like myself anymore.
20:25I'm a whole new person.
20:27There were some hiccups with judges disliking her Fierce Roast Coffee commercial and her clashes with fellow contestants, particularly Alexandria Everett.
20:36She finally competed against Molly O'Connell in the final two.
20:53Although Banks had wanted to eliminate her early on, most of the judges were in favor of Klein.
20:58She eventually won due to her Covergirl commercial and print ad.
21:02This girl is a winner, alright.
21:04It doesn't matter where you're from or how you're raised or what you have to go through.
21:08You can do whatever you want if you just put your mind to it.
21:11I was really close to giving up and it just proves don't ever do that because right whenever you're about to give up, something great really, really happened.
21:17Number two, Naima Mora, Cycle 4.
21:21This winner from Michigan came out with a very striking makeover and an overall strong modeling performance.
21:28She was so amazing.
21:30I still have chills just thinking about it.
21:32It's quite evident in the show that Naima ruled the show. She has stage presence.
21:36Maura began the competition already a little edgy with her dark mohawk, but add a lighter color and a little product and she popped more than anyone would have believed as the makeover both defined and softened her features.
21:50So I would have probably chosen a really, really light color or a really, really dark color.
21:54But this spot in between is perfect. I love it.
21:58Throughout the season, Maura won every one of the CoverGirl of the Week titles, got two first call-outs, and won over Kenya Hill and Kaylin Rondo in the CoverGirl commercial portion of the finale.
22:11In the final runway, she bested everyone and became the official winner of the cycle. What a show.
22:17Uniquely versatile, undeniably edgy. Naima, the spunky Detroit girl embodies a true CoverGirl.
22:25I am a CoverGirl.
22:26Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
22:30Anya Rozova, Cycle 10. Another successful brunette to platinum blonde conversion.
22:37I think this makeover will give me an edge because it's a very sophisticated look, so I just have to be more elegant with it.
22:44Laura Lafreit, Cycle 18. Red, white, and blue never looked so stylish.
22:50She's got the platinum blonde. She's got the American colored clip-ins. It really makes her stand out even more.
23:00Natasha Galquina, Cycle 8. For another Cleopatra look that is downright queenly.
23:06I think that it proves any look can work for me.

23:27Number 1. Fatima Saeed, Cycle 10.
23:32This Somalian-American contestant's tragic life and modeling talent is the stuff of legend.
23:38Debuting with a unique blonde curly texture, Saeed was fitted with beautiful silky black hair extensions that made her look no less than stunning.
23:47When I first saw my new look, I thought it was beautiful. I really liked it. I felt like it really brought up my East African-ness.
23:54There were major hiccups, of course, with Saeed struggling to take direction and missing an overseas photo shoot due to lost travel documents.
24:03Sadly, she was eliminated just before the final runway show despite a strong portfolio.
24:10Your face is absolutely stunning. But modeling is so much more than just being beautiful.
24:17It's about listening to a photographer or a director's vision and delivering that message.
24:23Saeed eventually went on to a successful career, signing up with modeling agencies in New York City and Los Angeles.
24:31To this day, we all wonder what could have been had Saeed won.
24:35Hopefully, I'll be a role model for a lot of young women, especially East African women.
24:39They can look at me and say, wow, look at her. She went out there and she did her thing.
24:42Which other America's Next Top Model makeover lives in your head rent-free?
24:46Let us know in the comments down below.
24:49The girls are starting to feel intimidated by me and it's really making me feel good as hell.
24:54Bye.
24:55E glad you wanted to see her.
25:00See you next time.
25:01Bye.
25:03Bye.
