00:00So now what's going to happen?
00:02Well, there's going to be a lot of posturing over the next week.
00:07Here's something that everybody should get a bit of a chuckle out of.
00:11We had to pass the budget right before Easter.
00:16We had to pass the bill right before Memorial Day.
00:22Now we are supposed to pass the final bill, get it through the Senate by July 4th.
00:30We had to pass the government funding bill right before Christmas.
00:36Speaker knows.
00:38Now why do you think that is?
00:39Do you think that's just because everybody goes,
00:42well, wouldn't it be nice to do that right at those great holidays?
00:46No.
00:48Something called jet fumes.
00:50Every member of Congress has a trip.
00:54Personal, business, corporate, whatever.
00:57I mean, not corporate, government.
00:58They're going to go take a trip.
01:02So they always want to have these bills right before that.
01:06So everybody comes in and goes, yeah, yeah, I'll vote for it.
01:09Let's get out of that.
01:10Boom.
01:11They get out of town.
01:14So here we are.
01:15And over the next week, there's going to be an enormous amount of pressure
01:18brought to bear from the White House, from our leadership on both sides to get in line
01:28and to say, we've got to pass it.
01:32If we don't pass it, the taxes are going to go up.
01:34If we don't pass it, we're not going to get the border funding.
01:37If we don't pass it, there's going to be, we don't have a debt ceiling increase.
01:41And, oh man, the bond markets are going to freak out.
01:45We're not going to default on our debt.
01:48We're not going to let taxes go up in the end before this year is over.
01:52They don't go up until December.
01:54We're going to do what we need to do on the border.
01:58I'd like to do it in this bill.
01:59But I'm not going to do it in this bill if this bill is adding to the debt,
02:04not doing what it needs to do on the Green News scam,
02:07not doing what it needs to do on Medicaid,
02:09not doing what it needs to do on countless other issues.
02:14I'm not going to do it if it's going to be a big giveaway
02:16to blue state tax jurisdictions,
02:20state and local taxes, where they want my friends in this conference
02:23who represent big tax states like New York, California,
02:27ooh, they want a bigger deduction for their state taxes.
02:31Why the hell should I subsidize their stupid decisions in their states
02:35for their expensive taxes?
02:38Why should my constituents have to do that?
02:44Why should we continue to allow food stamps to go to the able-bodied?
02:48Why should we continue to have Medicaid go to the able-bodied
02:52and not have work requirements
02:54or not deal with the money laundering scam?
02:58Why shouldn't we, by the way, have health savings accounts?
03:00The Senate bill took our health savings accounts
03:02out of the House bill.
03:06Why should we continue to have taxpayer-funded sex change operations?
03:11The Senate bill puts that back in.
03:13Why should we not tax these big university endowments,
03:23these universities that are engaging in political activism,
03:28taking massive federal money and federal student loan support?
03:32Why shouldn't we tax them?
03:33The Senate reduces our tax on university endowments
03:37to raise revenue by 20%.
03:40Why shouldn't we stop China from getting taxpayer dollars
03:47through the Green New Scam subsidies?
03:51Our bill prevented China from getting rich off of our tax dollars.
03:55The Senate bill takes it out.
03:57Why?
03:59Why?
04:03Why shouldn't we tax the remittances of illegal aliens
04:07sending money back to their home countries?
04:10Our bill did that.
04:12The Senate bill takes it out.
04:18We are at a critical juncture in our history as a country.
04:22And the question here is will Republicans step up
04:29and put forward transformational reform
04:33when they've got the majority in the House,
04:35the majority in the Senate,
04:37and they've got the White House.
04:39Will we deliver on the President's agenda responsibly?
04:45Will we actually take this moment
04:47to change the trajectory of debt
04:50that's killing our country for our kids and grandkids?
04:54Or will we continue the same game
04:56of tax cuts for everyone
04:59but spending and more spending for everyone?
05:04We can't keep doing the same thing.
05:07We can't.
05:08I know the American people are frustrated.
05:20I know they expect us to deliver.
05:23And we must deliver.
05:25Failure is not an option.
05:28But we shouldn't deliver for the sake of it.
05:31We shouldn't pass a bill just to check a box.
