00:00what's up this is Vinnie and Angus from the Australian indie rock band Teenage Dads

00:14we're here in Chicago on our Majordomo album tour our album came out oh yes

00:21August August last year so where it's our first tour in the US promoting it

00:26it's been great and this is our humble abode did we name oh we got a work-in-progress name

00:35we're gonna go with Wiley for now yeah there's been a few names floated some of

00:42them were a bit contentious within the group but I'm choosing Wiley because he

00:48gave us a drum throne almost to us the first the first stop in Nashville we went

00:55to buy a drum kit because it's cheaper than renting it and the guy that Vin

01:01bought some parts off gave him a free expensive drum seat so shoutouts Wiley

01:07drivers so far it's just been myself and Adam our front of house engineer we do

01:15have that there are six of us however the company only let four of us on the thing

01:21so Angus unfortunately missed out on previous trips I have tried to take up a

01:27fair share of the driving with Vince but when we landed and found out about the

01:31insurance form I found out I wasn't allowed to drive so my screen time has

01:36been exceptional on this trip which is unfortunate oh yeah but we yeah we we have

01:41the the pilot and the co-pilot or couple it I think you've been saying that's

01:48kind of the system in previous fans you would you would make sure if you're

01:53driving next you would get priority sleeping position which is usually down

01:58the back or something but it's your job as the co-pilot to do the settings things

02:04like that we like to keep two hands ten to also pilot also providing energy or a

02:11source of conversation if you get into the copilot the couple it position and you

02:18decide to have a nap no no no no no you are not going to be doing that you

02:23will delegate to a different seat if you plan on having a nap or suffer the

02:27consequences bullying yeah I just found this flower before and I I really like

02:34the smell I think it's a lily so good anyway I just chucked that in there before

02:38loading so now there's a nice fragrance in here we have some really really good

02:45toilet paper from our Airbnb if you want to feel that I don't know we that feels

02:49like it's so good we have a ring oh yeah this is the one yeah it's it's not a

02:53straight edge which is very pricey so if you want to if you want a sheet of this

03:00you will be charged upwards of 50 cents us we've got an exercise book in case we

03:09need to I don't know do some school work it is currently empty our soundy Adam I

03:14know we've gone oh no we've got some numbers not sure what they are but there

03:19are numbers

03:21well this side yeah adult raincoat I did see this for the first time earlier I'm

03:28not sure whose it is is it Connor oh oh wait no that was Connor's yeah cuz I

03:37thought he looked like he looked like William Gallagher with it on it's a

03:40really long card that zips up past the chin so we thought he looked like a bit

03:44like Liam Gallagher so I think it's easy this but this is an umbrella teamu

03:50umbrella I think from Connor it's immaculate like look how compact that is

03:55anyway haven't used it on this it's also this has been yeah Connor's got a lot of

04:01shit up here so is Adzi this is interesting we got this or a year ago at a

04:10gas station in Rock Springs Colorado where we were stuck in the snow and the

04:16clerk asked me if I thought it was real wood and I was quite shocked that he

04:22actually thought that this would be real wood anyway everyone knows that you

04:26should put real wood into a lighter so it's actually it's come along on one

04:32two three this is for international tours that we that come to me it's come to

04:38both Europe excuse me both us no five us Europe us Europe us damn pretty good

04:48so wait yeah I want to hold on to this for some reason let's figure on we've got a

04:55ear plug or like air pods equivalent for our sound guy a belt we've got an epi pen

05:04for me so what you want to do is I'll actually inject it now for the camera so

05:11what you want to do is you want to I don't know how to use it because I

05:15shouldn't be using it so I actually never learn so what you want to do is

05:19pull off the blue safety release which is that if you can't see that that's blue

05:24I have unfortunate news is that you may be colorblind to form fist around the

05:30device as illustrated that looks like as it's illustrated place orange end against

05:34outer thigh and press until it clicks hold for three seconds I'm not going to do

05:39that because I would need to go to the hospital but it's even though it rhymes

05:46someone had I know a story about someone they had heard blue to you and they which

05:53is incorrect no they had orange to its blue to you is correct yeah orange to the

05:58sky is what they heard and they did that and then stabbed themselves with a

06:02a noradrenaline injector which yeah yeah very not good so yet it's blue to you

06:09not orange to the sky which I don't know which is the thing anyway what's we got

06:14Barocca this may only be in Australia so for American audiences I'm sorry it's

06:22just a vitamin tablet with a hydration effervescent tablet tastes good makes you

06:29think that you're consuming calories so if you're hungry go for it tylenol which is

06:36yours calm food then I've finished feel fine now I don't know if these worked

06:42honestly anyway rubbish tylenol supporters drop a drop a comment let me know if you

06:50think that tylenol works for you we've got an empty water bottle with a spoon we've got

06:56a massage ball that's because I thought all it it's good if you need a little

07:00quick quick blood flow let's do promotion a blood flow

07:07promotion right let's put it on it or something oh there's a bit of chocolate

07:11on this seat this morning that transferred onto my pants over here so I'm pretty

07:18disappointed about that here's the culprit over here this this chocolate anyway

07:24there's an apple on the floor I had a moment earlier what where the brakes

07:28were slammed on my apple was on my seat and it rolled all the way up the car and

07:32I made me think about the scene in the Simpsons where I already gets the

07:36grapefruit it's a grapefruit and it rolls all the way under the pedal and then

07:39they ended up I think we were crossing a bridge or near a bridge so it made me

07:42think about that whole sequence of events in that Simpsons episode yeah but

07:46didn't end up doing that it just got really bruised so I will not be eating it I'm

07:50sorry yeah I don't I don't mean to waste food but an apple that is covered in

07:56bruises it's not it's not it's not gonna happen great should we move into there

08:03we are in the back area we have six people usually we have one two or three

08:10four I should say five and then sometimes six person goes here or even even way back

08:17and also we like to call these single seats the lead singer see ah I don't I

08:26can't remember why was it just because you think you're the best and you're

08:30having your own chair yeah it's a good it's a bit of a king in the castle over

08:34yeah superiority complex or something anyway

08:38Jazzy our our good friend and videographer he's he's usually claiming this

08:44seat and this is his bucky pillow which is a technically in his eyes he deems

08:50that a rat this is a rat to him he will only call it a rat because a beaver is a

08:57rodent or a member of the rodent family and so is a brat so by definition by

09:02definition being a cousin of a particular species means that you are that species as

09:08well there you go and this is also his hoodie shout out Woodward indoor skate

09:12parks oh it's more than that it's a freaking institution go Woodward oh he's

09:19been wearing my glasses realization Jazzy has been wearing my glasses because I

09:23couldn't find my glasses and they were in his hoodie so um he's got an empty beer

09:28American wheat ale we don't drink a whole lot but he did take the entire rider

09:34last night in his backpack and it weighed probably yeah I don't know I don't know

09:40pounds you can get you can tell when a band is or like an act is getting low on

09:46money or getting a bit desperate because they will take the entirety of the rider

09:50and that there will just be leftover food and drinks and show that later we've

09:58actually got the bag out we have a preview for the part two um I just like to

10:03touch on this really quick so this is coffee news this is a little I guess

10:10newsletter more or less that we thought only existed in our local area where

10:17was it in in Mornington like well yeah a tiny area in in Australia turns out it

10:25doesn't exist only there and it exists all over the world okay so yeah in this

10:30coffee news there's uh there's trivia there's did you know facts there's jokes

10:36and there's also some weekly horoscopes so we've just been we've just been

10:40advised that the the person filming this is a cancer so as the weekend approaches

10:46you may feel a sense of contentment it might be a good time to kick back and

10:51relax relationship issues could be easier to resolve now your lucky numbers are

10:57one sixteen seventeen twenty two thirty and thirty three so there we are so

11:04everyone that's a cancer that's that's watching this let's get back go kick back

11:09relax um anyway we found this in a Tim Hortons in somewhere I can't somewhere in

11:18Canada sometimes you stop in a place sometimes you stop in a place and you

11:21spend maybe nearly two hours there and you have no idea what the place was or

11:26whether you'll ever be there ever again this is a neck pillow I believe this is

11:32other Jordans or our sound guys I dad looks like Adzies it's been it's got a lot of

11:40wear and tear yeah that's Adzies how soundy Adzies bought a pen earlier

11:45and maybe clock it and shoot like wait it has it okay yeah yeah yeah so it's a

11:50that's that's a disarmed pen and then that's an armed pen

11:56that's a pen that is a pen this is Adzies hoodie which is our own merch which

12:04he tends to lose a lot he's lost a few of these I think that's his third or

12:08fourth iteration of that this is a card for something premium chrome sticker oh

12:13that'll be like a gas station sticker wrapper I can go back on the floor where

12:18it belongs just just a bit of rubbish this is our rubbish bag that we sometimes

12:23use evidently not today we have some cucumbers and some chips which I threw

12:30in the bin this morning at our accommodation but they managed to find

12:34their way back into the van because someone really wanted it that was just

12:38that was that was Jazzy our filming okay so this is our first tour with the

12:44trailer we we had our management ask us if they thought that 15 merch boxes plus

12:51our gear would fit in this with six people and we said no so they thought well

12:57why don't we get two vans and we thought no so they thought let's get a trailer and we

13:03thought that makes more sense so in here is usually our personals our drum kit yeah

13:12pretty much just those things when we're crossing borders we wear a bit more

13:16strategic with the carnage so forth so every all the other gear and merch goes in

13:23the trailer we have our our stack set up and then a lot of miscellaneous shit such as

13:31these underwear the host the airbnb that we stayed at in last night they've been

13:38booked had a sauna in one of the lounge rooms and a jacuzzi so there are various

13:44wet or semi wet underwear sets everywhere such as in here is a pair of mine

13:51that's that's these are soaked vincers actually oh are they me maybe these are

13:56jaws all right this is a bucky's bag that we bought specifically for food and shit

14:05yes what are these sunflower seeds or something we have a big box of popcorn oh

14:13okay let's talk about these our digestive digestives we really like this biscuit

14:18except usually it's a brand called mcvitties which we have we've only found

14:24one one convenience store had in Canada in Canada but Angus found this brand which

14:32looks really funny so it's mainly the digestives oh yeah digestives see I saw

14:38that and I thought oh that's funny but they may be okay we are yet to try them oh

14:43this is a tour must to some Cholula hot sauce this is bottle number two so we'll

14:51probably go through a few of those on the tour for oh there we go for fans of

14:55Tabasco we've we've also got you but Cholula is probably my favorite the oops

15:00this has been a game changer for the rider medjool dates because they're really

15:04expensive so if the venue is willing to buy them it's that's great bananas

15:13you know they feel bad at the top okay yeah they're probably a bit stupid I

15:17think this would be Angus's rice noodles they would be my rice noodles I bought

15:22way too many um what have we got tea bags tea bags MGG bags tea is very hard to come

15:30across in the US I wish the tea was more of a thing honey also a must you need it for

15:40coffee because we don't really like the creamer and stuff you just get black

15:44coffee and creamer has no milk fun fact we looked into it and it's various

15:49vegetable oils and things like that there's essentially no milk in that so if

15:55you want if you want a milk alternative I guess that's good but I think people

15:59probably are under the impression that it is milk it's not it's not milk okay there's

16:04the beers we were talking about from last night that contributed to Josie's bag

16:08being really heavy um oh we have some chocolate oh that's Connor's chocolate

16:13no this is Adam's chocolate oh you might you want a bit oh yeah do you want to steal a

16:18bit fingers oh yeah it's fruit and mouth you can't have it I can't have that

16:22otherwise I'll need the pep um oh okay this is a good find we have a toothbrush and we

16:31have a fresh packet of toothpaste someone has not been brushing their teeth which

16:36is disgusting this is good of all the sensations you can experience and it's

16:43throughout life going at night and a morning without brushing your teeth has

16:47got to be one of the worst that's slimy feeling where your teeth are soft and

16:52you can cut into them with a butter knife awful that is terrible you don't want

16:56that okay what else have we got is what's in this bag yeah we got some water so we

17:00stuff in the venue that's all water yeah we got more water here we got a rain

17:05jacket Vince made a comment about it earlier but a lot of the stuff that is

17:10piling up is our sound guys and I think it deserves to go in a bag at this stage

17:15because this entire chair is dedicated to loose items it's the junk chair if you

17:22will but of the junk bunk equivalent except we don't like to do that it's

17:28usually what's the saying that mark says something about if it's something about

17:36survival if you I it's something about if items are not in use they will be in your

17:45bag yeah somebody was put in a way that was a lot more memorable than and military

17:50sounding like oh fuck I can't this is my hoodie this is from a tour we did last year

17:57with dayglow shoutout dayglow thank you dayglow that's my hoodie so a drum we

18:05have a drum that's broken the the hoop is is dented we didn't realize when we

18:12bought it but luckily we have another one we have we have a scooter myself and my

18:21friend or our friend Justin now filmer he and I used to be pro at screw scootering he still

18:29is so he brought it along because there's a few spots he wants to hit on the tour
