Hi, I'm Andrew Trendle. You're watching NME. We're at Glastonbury 2025.
00:10
And surprise, it's Peter Capaldi, Alex Capranos and Masterpiece.
00:16
Hello.
00:17
Hello. Hi there.
00:18
So let's start with Peter. I mean, the very knowing nod to Lewis being on the other stage, but you know, how did this come together?
00:24
I think we had some mutual friends who were musicians and I had been praising Franz Ferdinand.
00:34
And Alex just got in touch and asked if I would like to play with them at Glastonbury.
00:40
I don't know who's going to turn that down.
00:42
I thought there must be a gimmick here. There must be, what is it? Is it some kind of Doctor Who related song or something like that?
00:50
But that wasn't, I said, what do you want me to sing? He said, take me out. I went, what?
00:55
It still feels like a fever dream. I can't believe this happened.
00:59
And you can sing. Did you give him any tips on owning the Glastonbury stage?
01:02
I didn't need to give him any tips, like complete natural. Like it was, it was masterful. It was brilliant.
01:08
Yeah, that was one hell of a crowd. Who said people are bored of bands? That's nonsense.
01:11
No, that was amazing. They were good, weren't they?
01:13
Yeah. It's just so exciting to hear a band that plays so well with such energy and attack.
01:20
And these guys do it so brilliantly. They really work the audience.
01:26
What's next for this supergroup?
01:28
What's not a band? What's not a band? You heard it here first. Enemy.
01:32
I don't know, I don't know what's going to happen, but.
01:35
In the new era of indie music, it's just like, I personally feel like I'm flying the flag.
01:40
And then it's just like, to get a cosign from these guys, it's just like crazy to me, man.
01:44
It just makes it feel more worth it and more real, for sure.
01:47
So the Doctor Peace album coming next year.
01:50
Doctor Peace, that's a great name, isn't it?
01:53
Guys, thank you so much.
01:55
Thank you. Yeah, nice to speak to you.
