00:00And Hunter Dickinson, New Orleans, Vlad Golding.
00:03Can we talk about him for a second?
00:06Remember, I used to say that he runs like a sausage at the Brewers games.
00:11He's straight up stiff runner down the court.
00:15You know, they portrayed him to be like, let's face facts.
00:21He was one of the most, I guess, if you will, famous players in college basketball the last several years, right?
00:29Even at Kansas.
00:31And you remember him before that at Michigan, right?
00:34Michigan and then Kansas.
00:36And everybody thought he was this great player.
00:40And the bottom line was, he never got it done.
00:45He didn't make Kansas better.
00:47He didn't win a title with Kansas.
00:50He didn't, am I wrong?
00:51What did he do at Kansas besides nothing?
00:54Didn't get drafted either.
00:55And then he ends up doing a free agent deal in New Orleans, which is, as you know, besides the Acme Oyster Bar and Mr. B's, it's prison.
01:09Okay?
01:09So I don't see a future for him, to be honest with you, in the NBA.
01:14I see a future for him overseas.
01:17Like, look, if you don't get drafted, bottom line is you're an undrafted free agent.
01:23You're going to go try to make these teams.
01:25And they're just not going to give you burn.
01:27That's just all there is to it.
01:29And then you play in Europe.
01:31And you can play.
01:32And not only that, just so we're clear, you can also, believe it or not, I know people don't understand this, but you can get rich.
01:40Like, they make a lot of money, believe it or not.
01:44They can play overseas in Turkey.
01:46They can play in Japan.
01:47I got friends that play in Japan.
01:49The guy's raking.
01:51I mean, just making tons of money.
01:53And as an undrafted free agent in the NBA, you're not going to make any money.
02:00Okay?
02:00They're just not going to give you any money.
02:02You're going to make the minimum.
02:03You're going to make nothing.
02:05So you're better off going overseas.
02:07You can play in anywhere, Spain, Germany, wherever, Turkey, and make all kinds of money.
02:13And I'm not talking about first-round money.
02:16I'm not talking about NBA veteran money of guys that make tons of money.
02:21I'm talking about way better money than being an undrafted free agent in the NBA when you make no money.
02:28Like, I know guys that play right now in Europe that make millions.
02:31And, you know, a couple million dollars playing overseas is better than playing for $350,000 and sitting at the end of the bench in the NBA and never getting one minute of burn.
02:42You're better off going over there, making money, and playing your ass off, and getting back to the NBA that way by making a name for yourself overseas.
02:52Tons of guys play overseas, in case you didn't know.
02:56Tons of guys go over there and play.
02:59Vlad Golden to Miami.
03:01Mark Sears to the Bucs.
03:04Eric Dixon.
03:05He's a player.
03:06I think Sears is a player.
03:09And Dixon can fill it up.
03:10You know, he filled it up at Villanova.
03:12He scored a lot of points, and he went to the Lakers.
03:15And Grant Nelson to the Nets.
03:17Grant Nelson from Alabama.
03:18Listen, it is amazing to me, and we'll talk to Coach about it, like, these suits are controlling your destiny.
03:27It's a dangerous way to make a living, boy.
03:29Like, you got all these suits making decisions, and you're going to sit here and tell me that that kid, for instance, Sears, right, that he's undrafted.
03:40Like, no one thought anything of him.
03:41Like, that's the bottom line.
03:43Lewis at St. John's, great player, right?
03:45And then what?
03:47He had a bad tournament, and his stock went right to hell.
03:52And he doesn't matter either.
03:54And I actually thought that kid, the kid Nelson's from Bama, right?
03:57I actually thought he played great in the NCAA tournament, and he still won't matter on the Nets.
04:04So you have guys making the decisions that think nothing of you, and you're screwed because of that.
04:12And that's a sorry state of affairs.
04:14It really is because, like, there are players that are undrafted that are better than the ones that were drafted flat out, and they see it differently, and they call the shots.
04:28Like, watching this guy, Marks, making these calls on the Nets, it's a disaster, right?
04:34But he calls the shots, so whether you like it or not, you have no say in the matter.
04:39And, I mean, it is a brutal existence, I think, for a basketball player with talent to get overlooked, and they just think nothing of you.
04:48You have no stock.
04:49You have no juice.
04:49You don't get drafted.
04:50Some other bum gets drafted.
04:51Like, no one had ever heard of a Chinese kid, but I have never seen anything like watching his tape of his footwork and his abilities like, you know, a Chinese joker.
05:03Like, this dude is no joke.
05:05He can play and pass and finish and float and dunk and has moves.
05:10He has a scoop shot.
05:11He's got a hook shot.
05:13He's got all these things in his game that I like, but no one had ever heard of him.
05:18No one mentioned that guy's name once, ever.
05:22Not one person has ever said his name publicly, ever, in this country.
05:27And then now, all of a sudden, everybody's an expert on him.
05:29I watched his games.
05:31The guy can flat out play, but they overlook all kinds of players that were good, that they think nothing of.
05:38So, they're the evaluators, and I think half-for-half-cocked decision.
