00:00I mean, our job, in my view, is that we just had an election.

00:09We just had a primary election, and that election is sent clear sentiments about what the people of New York City are looking for.

00:20This race was very broad-based in terms of the electorate.

00:25The people that turned out were old, they were young, they were across boroughs, across demographics.

00:33And so for us, I believe that, especially with the results that we saw,

00:38how much above people's expectations that Mr. Momdani's performance was,

00:47that we have a choice to listen to that message that people are sending us or not.

00:55And I think it's important, it's not just about, this isn't just about Mr. Momdani as an individual,

01:03this is about the message that the people of New York City are trying to send to our party.

01:08And particularly in the fact that the entire Democratic establishment,

01:14when given a broad range of candidates to support across all sorts of different ideas,

01:21still decided to stubbornly choose Andrew Cuomo, who is a leader, who has been a leader for a very long time,

01:29when the people are clearly asking for generational change.

01:32You know, I think it speaks to the fact that, I think a lot of those lessons do need to be learned.

01:39And I hope that they're learned soon.

01:41And I think we should all be rooting for the city's success.

01:45And I'm confident that we will be moving forward together.

01:50I'm very grateful to many of the leaders who are encouraging and willing to unite and move forward together.

02:01Is this a warning sign to leaders like Chuck Schumer?

02:04I don't think this is about a warning sign.

02:07I think all of us as public servants have a job to listen to the folks that we work for.

02:17And I think that a clear message was sent on Tuesday.

02:21And I think it's up to me to listen to them.
