GB News presenter Stephen Dixon challenged Conservative MP Richard Holden over the party's migration stance during a recent interview, suggesting the Tories were adopting policies similar to those of Reform UK.The exchange occurred against the backdrop of intensifying debate over Channel crossings and migration policy, with both major parties facing pressure to address record numbers of small boat arrivals.Stephen Dixon asked the Shadow Paymaster: “Am I right in thinking the Tories are now pursuing a net zero policy for migration at the moment? I mean, that’s basically a Reform UK policy, isn’t it?”Richard Holden told GB News: “I think we’ve been very clear. What we want to see is the UK deciding who comes to our country, and we will do that with an annual cap, decided here in Parliament."READ THE FULL STORY HERE

00:00Am I right in thinking the Tories are now pursuing a net zero policy for migration, which is basically a reform policy, isn't it?
00:12We've been very clear what we want to see is we want the UK to decide who comes to our country, and we will decide that with an annual cap which is decided here in Parliament.
00:26Now, that might vary slightly on the year, but I don't think you can just say we'll have a total zero policy.
00:34For example, my brother got married to an Italian girl.
00:37Are we going to say to them if they happen to be at one point later in the year, oh, they're going to move to Italy if they want to get married rather than come to the UK?
00:44I don't think that works.
00:46I think you've got to have a sensible balance policy where actually we decide who comes into the UK, and we also decide who doesn't get to come into the UK.
00:55That's what we want with a deterrent there, a really sensible deterrent for any illegal migrant, because it should be our sovereignty.
01:03There are borders.
01:04It should be our sovereignty to decide who comes to the UK and who doesn't.
01:08I think if we can get to that, then I think actually the British people would say that's fair enough.
01:13I think what they don't want to see is huge numbers, and they do not want to see illegal migrants.
01:19I think they want to see us back in control, and that's what we're offering.
