00:09nidris, quickly made the rounds on social media sparking outrage. At first, Sagar Shivale, her
00:14grandson, claimed Yashoda had wandered off. Days later, CCTV footage from the local hospital
00:19showed Shivale and his uncle, Baba Sahib Gaikwar, taking her to a hospital late at night.
00:24The investigation revealed that after being denied admission, they left her near a garbage dump with
00:29the rickshaw driver's help. The rickshaw driver, Sanjay Kadresim, was reportedly paid 400 rupees
00:34for his role in the act. According to the police, Gaikwar had become aggressive on June 21
00:39and tried to harm herself and her grandson. Faced with evidence, Sagar eventually admitted
00:50to abandoning her. All three, Sagar, Baba Sahib and the rickshaw driver, were arrested in multiple
00:55sections of the Indian Penal Court and the Maintainance and Welfare of Parents and Senior
00:59Citizens Act. Yashoda, first taken to Jogeshwari Trauma Care Hospital and later shifted to Cooper
01:04Hospital, is currently under treatment. According to HelpAge India survey, about 16% of elderly women
01:10in India have faced abuse 40% of the time by their sons.
