00:30Celebrating 50 years of ITV's finest game shows, this is the Game Show Marathon.
00:58And now, you get nothing from a pair, unless it's these two, please welcome, Ant and Deck!
01:14Hello! Hello!
01:18Thank you very much! Thank you!
01:21Oh, thanks!
01:24Thank you very much! Thank you! Seriously, you haven't seen the show yet, we don't deserve it!
01:31Hello and welcome everybody to week two of Game Show Marathon, we're celebrating ITV's 50th birthday with some truly classic game shows.
01:39Yes, every Saturday night we're bringing you a different game show, all played by our team of star contestants,
01:44who are playing to raise money for their chosen charities. The further they go in the marathon, the more money they're gonna raise.
01:50Last week, Carol Vaughlin won the Price is Right and secured a place in our first semi-final, where she'll be joined by tonight's winner.
01:56And the marathon climaxes with our two final contestants playing family fortunes with their real family!
02:02Oh, yeah!
02:03Oh, I'll tell you what, I'm really looking forward to tonight's game show!
02:10Me too!
02:11Is it eh?
02:12Yes!
02:13No, we're not doing that one!
02:16Oh!
02:17We're not doing that one!
02:18Yeah, but I've went and booked the star of that show!
02:20Well, you'll just have to un-book him then, won't you?
02:22Oh, come on!
02:23It's his first TV appearance in, yes!
02:26Oh, okay!
02:27He's been stuck!
02:28He's been stuck doing panto since the 80s!
02:31Why, they don't knock panto!
02:32We'll be doing panto ourselves one day!
02:34Oh, no, we won't!
02:35I knew you were gonna say that!
02:39I'm sure they're right, we probably will!
02:42Anyway, I'm sure the ladies and gentlemen would love to see him, wouldn't ya?
02:45Yes!
02:46He's been in the business for over 20 years!
02:50He's a legend of Saturday Night Telly!
02:52Please welcome tonight's special star guest!
02:55Here he is!
03:05Yes!
03:06Yes!
03:10Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on!
03:14Dusty Bin is the special guest!
03:17Yes!
03:18Yes!
03:19Oh, we're best pals, me and Dusty, aren't we, mate?
03:21Eh?
03:22Aren't we?
03:23Say, yes!
03:24Ready for a big night out later, are you?
03:26Good, good!
03:27I tell you what, we're gonna get trashed!
03:29Ha-ha!
03:30Yes!
03:33Well, Dusty's laughing!
03:36This man's painted on his face, man, he's a bin!
03:39Oh, look in here, you know, he's got feelings!
03:43I don't know this, why don't you just leave us and get off the stage, you useless lump of rubbish!
03:48Go on!
03:51If that's the way you feel then, goodbye!
03:53Not you!
03:54The bin!
03:55The bin, idiot!
03:56Get rid of the bin!
03:57But!
03:58Out!
03:59See you!
04:00Bye-bye, Dusty!
04:01See you!
04:02See you next week!
04:10Very upset with you!
04:11Now then, our star contestants are planning to win money for their chosen charities, and to win prizes for one of you at home.
04:17Every single prize won tonight goes into our viewer prize package, which last week included two cars, holidays to Florida and Antigua, and the dragon on Driftwood.
04:26Oh-ho, that was fun!
04:29Like that!
04:30But we kept the winner's identity a secret so we could surprise them with a very special game show prize delivery!
04:47Oh, don't you see me?
04:48Hello?
04:49Becky?
04:50Come on now, Becky!
04:51No!

05:27I'll make room!
05:29You'll go in the kitchen.
05:30No wait!

05:35In the kitchen as well!
05:37I know!
05:38But you were saying weren't you earlier on that Florida was one of your dreams...
05:41No!
05:42No!
05:43Kids really want to go.
05:45Well, they're going. You're going with them.
05:47Yeah, we are.
05:47And to Antigua.
05:48Oh.
05:56Well, I think we can safely say that the Benjamin family are feeling what?
06:00Yeah, man!
06:00Amazing!
06:03And they're with us today with Benjamin.
06:05Hiya, guys.
06:07Hiya.
06:11Oh, fantastic.
06:13Alan, we could be making a delivery to you this week.
06:15There's a big potential prize package tonight, including a brand new car.
06:21So, come to the Game Show audience now.
06:23You're in the chat and we're in.
06:25Call now with the answer to this question.
06:27Which of the following was an ITV game show?

06:31B. Wheel of Fortune.
06:33Or C. We'll meet again.
06:34Don't know where, don't know when.
06:37Call 09012 930 940.
06:40And follow instructions on the line.

06:48Texts also cost a pound, plus three messages at standard rate.
06:52Lines close at 9pm and players must be 18 or over.
06:56Good luck.
06:57Now, is everybody ready for the second game show of the marathon?
07:00All right, let's give you a few clues.
07:06This game show was first broadcast all the way back in 1955.
07:11You weren't allowed to say yes or no.
07:13And it was all about choosing between taking the cash or opening the box.
07:17That's right.
07:17Tonight's game show is...
07:19Take it!
07:19Well, hello.
07:36We've got some new faces this week.
07:39Nice to see you.
07:40How are you?
07:40Hi.
07:41Nice to see you.
07:42Nice to see you.
07:42Looking lovely.
07:43Nice to see you.
07:45You still here?
07:49Idiot.
07:49Now, this is one of the most important things we need for tonight's show.
07:54This is the gong, which featured in the yes-no game.
07:57If you said yes or no, they banged the gong and you were out.
07:59Isn't that right, Ant?
08:00Yes.
08:01Hey!
08:02You can't do it to me.
08:04I'm no host.
08:05I can say yes.
08:05Hey, you can say no.
08:08Hey, you can say no.
08:09You idiot.
08:10Are you going to start this so we can carry on with the show?
08:14Yes.
08:15It's time to remind ourselves why Take Your Pick has a place in TV history.
08:23In this show, if you mention the words yes or no, it resulted in despair.
08:26Have you got a boyfriend?
08:28No.
08:28No.
08:29The hosts found it hard to give away handfuls of cash.
08:32Put it away, you're horrible.
08:34And as it started in the 50s, Take Your Pick truly is the granddaddy of game shows.
08:38I remember watching Michael Miles do it.
08:41I remember there being a very tall, stuffy-built grey-haired man doing it,
08:44and it was quite serious then.
08:45Would you like to win an automatic washing machine?
08:48You would.
08:50Take Your Pick, of course, came back in the 90s with Des O'Connor.
08:54Des was great.
08:55He used to come down in the front of the show so relaxed.
08:58Thank you very much.
08:59The best bit of Take Your Pick has got to be the yes-no game.
09:04They could say anything but yes or no, and they invariably didn't.
09:10Hello, you are Letitia.
09:12Yes, I am.
09:12Yes.
09:14Des would hilariously always get most of them to be out straight away by saying,
09:18Is your name John?
09:19Yes.
09:20Oh, I'm out.
09:21What is your name?
09:22Martin Humphreys.
09:23Martin Humphreys.
09:24Yes.
09:25Now you are, it says there, Mick.
09:28Is it Mick or Mike?
09:29Quite right.
09:30Quite right.
09:31Is it?
09:31You would quite often get someone that thought they could kind of beat the questions by employing
09:39just a ridiculous technique of just constantly repeating themselves over and over again.
09:44It could be.
09:44Is that your Christian name, is it, Charles?
09:45It could be.
09:46You're a bank teller, are you?
09:47I could be.
09:47What, you're not doing that?
09:49I could be.
09:49It was like, play the rules.
09:51Just say yes or no.
09:52Get out and move on.
09:53Let someone else have a go.
09:54There's two brothers, haven't you?
09:56I haven't got any brothers.
09:56No brothers, of course.
09:57No brothers.
09:57No brothers.
09:59Hello, John.
10:00You obviously got a lot of friends out there.
10:02You got friends out there?
10:03Just a few.
10:03Just a few.
10:05Des could tell that this guy had a technique and he was going to go so far.
10:10So he just like battered him with about five or six questions.
10:13Have you got a family?
10:15You got a wife?
10:16Five kids.
10:17You got any kids?
10:18What are your hobbies?
10:19The man held out, held out right till the end and then just the one question.
10:24Any hobbies?
10:25Yeah.
10:26Yeah.
10:27Yeah.
10:27You got a nice twinkle in your eye.
10:29Oh, thank you.
10:30Is it me?
10:31Oh.
10:32Des used to flirt with the women and it didn't matter what age they were.
10:36Do I make you laugh?
10:36Yes, you do.
10:37You should see me in the shower.
10:40I like you.
10:41Do you like it?
10:44Part of the game was that opening question which was always so ludicrously simple.
10:48But still, they'd fall down.
10:50Who invented the biro?
10:51Was it Sanfrey Ballpoint?
10:53Inky the Bear?
10:55Or Laszlo Byro?
10:57The Humphrey Ballpoint.
10:59The first one.
11:00If someone just lost the grip and was like, oh, I don't know what it is.
11:03Even though Des was giving him the answer.
11:04If something is useless, it is said to be dead as a what?
11:08Dead as a dough nail.
11:09A what?
11:10A dough nail.
11:11Are you sure about that, Matt?
11:12You don't want to change your mind, do you?
11:14If you had one dough, and then someone you offered you another dough, what would you have?
11:20Two doughs.
11:23It was dough.
11:24Yeah, there's a dough dough.
11:25Oh, yes.
11:26Of course I could.
11:27Oh, after the hilarity of some inside help from the horse, could they resist the guaranteed cash over the mystery prize in the box?
11:34They were offered the key to the box.
11:36Oh!
11:37Or wads of cash.
11:39I'll take the box.
11:41Take the money!
11:42A pound.
11:43No, thank you.
11:44The lure of cash is a difficult one to resist.
11:47Nina, look, 15 pounds. I know you earn a lot nowadays in the Royal Airpods.
11:52It was almost life-changing.
11:54And for them to say no was so challenging, because there was a chance they were going to get a booby prize.
11:59They'd stick it out to the end, and then they'd open it up, and they'd win a tender tuner.
12:02A motorway code!
12:03A hand bone!
12:05Oh, an odd shot!
12:07You could tell the contestants who were determined they were going to open the box no matter what.
12:12Five pounds.
12:14I mean, five pounds.
12:16I know, yes. I'm going to open a box.
12:18Ten pounds.
12:19No.
12:19Eleven.
12:20No.
12:20Twelve.
12:21No.
12:21What did you turn down?
12:22Ooh.
12:24150 pounds is a lot of money.
12:26But you did right, because you won tonight's star prize.
12:29That's sports car!
12:30Whether their gamble paid off and they won the car, or took the money, everyone gave a unanimous...
12:35Yeah, that was unanimous.
12:37Yes, to take your pick.
12:43Right, we're almost ready for take your pick, but before we start, let's find out how our star contestants felt after the Price is Right last week.
12:50The power of the audience and the enthusiasm was totally overwhelming.
12:55I love that moment, because I've grown up watching people on that show going nuts!
13:02Yes, it's me!
13:02Burnham playing Tinko.
13:04I thought that was fab.
13:06It's all about luck, and luckily for me, all the discs fell in the right place, so I was very happy.
13:12I won!
13:14Eamon Holmes coming down!
13:16Look, I was like the substitute that was brought on too late to make a difference.
13:21100 quid!
13:22I didn't get off the ground, because my wife does all the shopping.
13:2555!
13:27I've got absolutely no idea about prices.
13:2990 pounds, it's Ruby!
13:30I think Ruby got carried away with it all, because the excitement in the studio was brilliant.
13:36Yes!
13:37I think I represented people who are hormonally imbalanced everywhere.
13:40I think they'll identify with me.
13:42Oh my God!
13:43My children aren't speaking to me anymore.
13:45Friends, did I win?
13:46I can't believe that my second spin, I got 100.
13:49If it had been the other way around, I'd be there.
13:52I'm not jealous.
13:53I am jealous.
13:54I wanted to win.
13:55Ah!
13:56I'm not surprised, Karen Wharton, because she's been revising for about six months.
14:00It's quite funny, because I go through to the semi-finals now, which is great, but I miss all these other shows.
14:05This is game for next week.
14:08Take your pick.
14:09I'm old enough to remember that.
14:11I think I'll get the family to practice yes and no with me.
14:13Well, I should be sensational, because I have no idea where to pursue.
14:18Well, good luck, Ruby!
14:20I think you might need it.
14:22All right, let's have a quick kick backstage and see how they're all bearing up.
14:26Hello, everybody!
14:27There they all are.
14:28They look quite relaxed, actually.
14:29They're very relaxed.
14:30They're getting ready.
14:31It's all to play for tonight.
14:33Another one of our contestants will earn their place in the Game Show Marathon semi-finals.
14:37But who's it going to be?

44:24Which, if I'm honest with you, is worth a lot less than the cucumber.
44:28Let's put it that way.
44:29So, you're not going through to the semi-finals, Vernon.
44:33Oh, great night.

45:14Obviously, too big to fix.
45:21All right.
45:22You turned out a thousand pounds for electric keyboard.
45:29Which is worth 200 pounds.
45:32There it is, Bill.
45:34You have to grab it.
45:35200 pounds.
45:36So you don't be Patsy.

46:14The card.
46:15The card.
46:15Oh, pass me the card.
46:17Pass me the card.
46:18It's obviously too big to fit in the box.
46:20You turned down 2,000 pounds.
46:22Is that a card?
46:23And you've taken home, well, the viewer's taken home, a picnic humper.
46:28With 87-pound bearers, taken off them, which means Patsy is tonight's winner.

47:21You've made it to our first semi-final, where you'll face Carol Vorderman.
47:36That's a very tough one.
47:37And don't forget, none of these guys get to keep any of these prizes, the car, the holiday,
47:41everything else.
47:43And the cucumber, it all goes to one of you at home.
47:46Les Dennis is going to be on the road with another big prize delivery this week.
47:49And if you want it to be your house, he calls that, then all you've got to do is ring the
47:52number on your screen.
47:54Now, lines will close at nine o'clock tonight.
47:56Get calling.

48:19And I can tell you, Simon is not very happy.
48:22Stick with us for the X Factor next.
48:24And talking of tantrums, three unruly kids are out of control, and the parents desperately
48:28need help.
48:29It's time to call Nanny 911 on ITV2.
