A consultation on refreshed planning guidance for the future regeneration of land surrounding Elland Road football stadium will close on 25th July.

00:00Further proposals for a once-in-a-generation rebuild of the area around Ellen Road have been shared,
00:06that include building up to 2,000 new homes and relocating the park and ride service.
00:11Leeds City Council has launched a consultation on the future regeneration of land surrounding the football stadium,
00:17stating that the work could deliver a multi-billion pound boost to the local economy.
00:21The Council is consulting on the Ellen Road 2025 informal planning statement,
00:27which will inform the future regeneration of around 30 acres of land surrounding the stadium.
00:33Leeds United are currently pushing ahead with plans to expand the stadium capacity from nearly 38,000 seats to 53,000.
00:40The draft document outlines the potential for a new community sports arena, hotel accommodation and workspaces,
00:48along with educational facilities linked to sport, health and wellbeing.
00:52The proposals also outline the future relocation of the park and ride,
00:56and the construction of one or more multi-storey car parks.
01:00The land has been allocated for development for a number of years,
01:03and the Council states that the refreshed vision and ambitions reflect changes and developments in the area,
01:10including Leeds United's proposed stadium expansion.
01:13They've said that the development would take up to 20 years from start to completion,
01:18and changes to parking provision would be phased and carefully considered,
01:21to ensure the local highway network can function,
01:25and that there is minimal adverse impact on neighbouring communities.
01:28Plans to establish a tram network to maximise the stadium's vast potential are also in the works.
01:35The Council has published its proposals online as part of a consultation,
01:39where residents, businesses and stakeholders can provide feedback until 25 July.
