Kapital co-founder excited for people to see Sheffield’s new beer hall

After two years' work the European beer hall Kapital is opening to the public.

00:00Are you excited about the opening of Capital?

00:02Mega excited, yeah, mega excited.

00:04We've been working on this for just under two years now

00:08since we first came to look at the site

00:09and it does feel pretty surreal that we'll be opening

00:12in less than 24 hours to the public.

00:14But yeah, we're dead excited, certainly a little bit nervous.

00:17But yeah, we're buzzing.

00:19Everyone's raring to go.

00:21The full team have been in all week,

00:23getting trained and ready for the big day tomorrow.

00:25But yeah, we're ready to go.

00:27Brilliant.

00:27And what is it that makes this site so special?

00:31We've put as heart-solver to this.

00:33We're a small, independent business.

00:35There's only, as myself and two other owners,

00:37we've got a small team.

00:39And yeah, it's quite the leap from the bar on Abedale Road

00:41that we've got.

00:43But yeah, I think the quality offering,

00:46the quality offering, the quality environment,

00:48the quality atmosphere at Vaingar,

00:50I think everyone,

00:52I think there's a lot of anticipation for it.

00:53And I think Sheffield's not really got anything like this

00:57that's this unique.

00:59So yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:00It was it.

01:01Brilliant.

01:01And you've got a lot of beers on offer.

01:05Which one would you recommend to people

01:06who are coming in to try the first time?

01:08We've got 34 taps with beers from all over Europe.

01:13But I think my favourite,

01:15and I think the one that everyone's dead excited about

01:18is the Budbar Tank Viet.

01:20So that comes all the way from the cellars

01:23in the South Pamia region of the Czech Republic.

01:26It's driven over in a tanker

01:28and then piped in directly from the tanker

01:31into the four tanks that we've got

01:32on the mezzanine floor.

01:35And then from there,

01:36poured straight into,

01:37from the tap into your glass.

01:38And yeah, fresh and pasteurised tank lager.

01:41Never been done before in Sheffield.

01:43So yeah, that's certainly a lot.
