00:00This morning we woke up to the news that the show that never ends is indeed ending.
00:06I'm so sorry if you hadn't heard before, we did mention it much earlier in the show.
00:11And I'm, well I'm sorry if this is how you're finding out.
00:16I hate to be the one to break it to you, but the next season of Call the Midwife will apparently be its last.
00:24Obviously there's the film and the prequel series, but it will end.
00:29It is ending.
00:30It feels like it's quite a long one.
00:3215th series will be the final one.
00:36We opened our phone lines this morning to offer you support in these times.
00:41Good morning, I may have done a bad thing here, so I'm now going to read from this prepared statement from the BBC, which I just received.
00:51The BBC would like to reassure fans that Call the Midwife will remain at the heart of the BBC for years to come.
00:57As previously announced, there are two Christmas specials, a new series, a film and prequel series, before a 16th series in due course.
