Transcript
00:00So we're here at Morial End Golf Club in Oswestry and we're here with Sue Skinner. Hello Sue.
00:04Hi there.
00:05So I mean the sign says it all doesn't it really but go on who do you represent?
00:09Right we're here for the League of Friends of Royal Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital
00:13and so we've got 23 teams here today so it's a great turnout, great support for us.
00:19And it's a bit of an annual event this Golf Day isn't it? How long have you been doing it now?
00:23It is, well I've been doing it, this is the only second year that I've been doing it for the League of Friends actually.
00:28Yeah, yeah. So we did do it years ago for another charity and we did about 13 years of that.
00:33Yeah.
00:34My land have been really good at supporting us.
00:36That's good to hear. So if anyone doesn't know, shame on them, but what are the League of Friends and what do they do?
00:41How do they help the hospitals?
00:43Well our aim really is to sort of improve the care and comfort of patients in our hospital.
00:48Last year we gave over £70,000 worth of equipment to the hospital
00:53and we're always receiving requests from consultants to actually for lots of equipment
01:00and we are constantly fundraising for that.
01:04Yeah. And how much do you hope to raise from a day like today?
01:08I'd hope it'd be probably about £2,500 with a bit of luck.
01:12Yeah, good going.
01:13So we've got good support and by the time we've done raffles and things we should be up to that amount and be good.
01:18Great stuff. Well thank you for all you do, for all of us Sue.
01:22No, not at all. Thank you.
