A band of showery rain accompanied by a brisk breeze will creep its way northeastwards across most of the country this morning. The rain will start to clear however from the southwest by mid morning, and as it clears so should the cloud, leaving behind bright skies with plenty of sunshine. Most of the UK should then be rain free by the early afternoon, apart from a few fleeting showers in the west of Scotland. Temperatures remaining warm, particularly in eastern England - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 26/06/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Clare Nasir.

00:00Hello then, a very good morning to you on this muggy Thursday morning, which is showery as well.
00:06We've seen some thundery rain just clip the far east of England.
00:10Elsewhere, this weather front bringing with it wet weather and some blustery conditions as it extends eastwards through the day.
00:16Slightly fresher air coming in behind before more wet and windy weather arrives into Friday morning,
00:22affecting mostly northern England northwards brighter skies as temperatures really ramp up across more central and eastern areas help with some sunshine.
00:32It turns showery through Friday and into Saturday. This weather front then weakens all the while.
00:37Temperatures intensify across more central and eastern areas, a bit fresher towards the northwest on Saturday with a few showers,
00:43and there will be some sunshine in between this weakening weather front.
00:46Now, if you are stepping out across Scotland this morning, watch out for some rain which could be heavy in places.
00:51Notice a clearance coming in from the west, so places such as Tyrone and Fermanagh will see some brighter weather through the next few hours.
00:59The rain continues across Wales as well as the west country. It's a bit more fragmented, some brighter skies in between,
01:05but notice this thundery rain across eastern parts of England, East Anglia, that will clear as we head through into mid-morning.
01:13So all of this wet weather is clearing eastwards.
01:16The rain will come and go through the morning with quite a brisk breeze,
01:20but notice this clearance allowing for some sunshine across the bulk of Northern Ireland and western Scotland by around lunchtime.
01:27The showery rain continues across northern England, the Midlands, eastern counties of Scotland as well as England,
01:32but through the afternoon an improving picture.
01:35So a fine end to the day, a few fleeting showers towards the northwest, still quite a keen breeze.
01:40Temperatures are probably around 17 to 19 across the north,
01:43and we'll see 24 for mid-Wales, 25 across eastern counties, 21 down towards the southwest of England.
01:51So through this evening, fairly pleasant if you are stepping out, you may find a shower towards the west of Scotland,
01:58but certainly some warm sunshine.
01:59Winds will ease as well, but that's not the end of the story.
02:02Through the night into Friday, more cloud and rain arrives across Northern Ireland, western Scotland as well,
02:09into Friday morning before it slowly pushes eastwards.
02:14So if you are stepping out on Friday morning, you may run into some rain anywhere from Lancashire northwards,
02:20certainly Northern Ireland, much of Scotland.
02:22A filament of rain affecting Orkney pushing up towards Shetland,
02:26but then some broken clouds, so some brighter weather before this wet weather moves this way.
02:31Anywhere from south Yorkshire, mid-Wales, southwards, you'll see some fine weather on Friday and also some sunshine,
02:39and temperatures responding quite quickly to that sunshine, particularly across eastern counties through the day.
02:45But this rain could pep up and intensify through the morning into the afternoon,
02:49and the wind will be a key feature of the weather through the afternoon as well.
02:53Now here are your temperatures.
02:55Despite the rain, 21 for Northern Ireland, 20 for Glasgow, 21 for Manchester,
03:00but notice 25 to 27 anywhere from east Wales towards eastern counties of England.
03:06And temperatures will be even higher through into Saturday.
03:11However, through Friday night, that rain clears most parts.
03:14There's a straddling weather front though, which will weaken all the while,
03:18and into Saturday morning, it will sit anywhere from southern Scotland
03:21down towards the far south of Northern Ireland, clipping the far north of England and perhaps even northwest Wales.
03:28So a lot of cloud here, some patchy rain and drizzle, brighter skies towards the north,
03:33but still that strong wind across the far northwest of Scotland with one or two showers.
03:38Further south, it's a mix of clouds and some brighter breaks,
03:41and certainly you will see some sunshine coming through as we head through the afternoon
03:45as this rain continues to feed in, particularly across the north Pennines.
03:50So temperatures on Saturday look like this.
03:53We're likely to see 26 to 29 anywhere from the Midlands, east Wales, towards eastern counties.
04:00Now for Wales itself, probably around 23 towards the west,
04:03and 21 across the central belt of Scotland, towards eastern counties of Scotland.
04:09Still quite a keen breeze in places, but certainly feeling very warm and humid.
04:15And that heat continues into Sunday as well,
04:18where temperatures could peak around 30 degrees Celsius,
04:21extending into the beginning of next week.
